  1. So it could easily be anything from a 4-0 win to a 4-0 defeat! In fact it will probably be one or the other - a 0-0 draw seems unlikely...
  2. 'For you' though. It's subjective. It nearly always is. I can say otherwise, and I do. The standard isn't shockingly bad; most officials are fine. Yes they make mistakes, and sometimes bad ones, of course they do, they're human. And some are better than others. But on the whole most of them aren't too bad. Worst thing about the game nowadays is that referee decisions are 'talking points.' They shouldn't be up for discussion at all. Of course fans will moan and grumble, we always have, but if the media didn't spend all their time talking about refs' decisions, the whole atmosphere of the game would be much better. And young refs in youth football wouldn't get abuse from parents and coaches on a weekly basis. No wonder there are hardly any of them.
  3. Looking forward to this. The Tommy Wright Derby is always a special day.
  4. And Paul Wilkinson It's ok though - Rooster!
  5. Depends what you call 'better.' Perhaps we'd disagree on that, I don't know, and I'm not really keen on getting embroiled in a party political discussion on here. But I reckon whether or not they actually get anything good done, or even manage to stop things getting worse, they at least won't be quite so blatantly in it for themselves and their mates, or be mainly concerned with taking part in culture wars. And that would at least be better - to the extent that it wouldn't be quite as bad.
  6. It wouldn't be as meaningful as it sounds! Premier League only play 38 matches, top two divisions used to only play 42, and it would disregard any 2 points for a win season when for all I know someone performed just as well. Man City's 100 points in 38 games would take some beating as the best season ever, I imagine. But still, records are records - let's hope we do it!
  7. They would have to be a shower of incompetent, nepotist shits not to be. tbf they'd be in with a good chance even then.
  8. That's not the question that needs answering. The answer to that question is obviously yes. The question that needs answering is 'will they be better enough to make enough of a difference to anything?' And only time will tell.
  9. If history teaches us anything, it teaches us that it's never wise to invade Moscow. Well, invade Russia really. How long is it since any invader reached Moscow?
  10. Also we're miles ahead and have shown that we're consistently at least as good and usually better than everyone else. I don't like Leeds because they're Leeds and I'm old enough to have grown up with 'Dirty Leeds.' I dislike most clubs, but for some reason I've never disliked Ipswich.
  11. If Enzo wants him that's good enough for me. If Enzo would rather have someone else but he and we have to make do because anyone better would cost more than we have, then fair enough, not much anyone can do about that. If Enzo doesn't want him he won't be here. And if he is here, I really don't care how long or short his contract is.
  12. Hmm... I quite like the site, but they seem to use the term 'logical fallacy' to describe any type of weak argument, not all of which are failures of logic. I'm in favour of weak arguments being exposed, but I'm also in favour of words being used correctly.
  13. I could weep. Modern life really is rubbish.
  14. It doesnt bare thinking about how busy youd bee if you tryed to fix all the miss take's people make, Youd literally be a bull in a China shop youd be that busy
  15. God that commentary is patronising crap. Basically 'Well done little Leicester, you've had your fun and given us a good laugh, but look - the big boys are here now."
  16. They might. Anything can happen in football, and it doesn't always go as expected. Good thing too, or it'd be boring. But - Even if they win all their remaining games (very big if) we still need a drop in form for them to catch us.
  17. Maybe it's the four league titles and the three FA Cups. Huge ground too. Historically they're a very big club, and I don't see why admitting that should be a problem. Doesn't mean they're a top club now. Preston, Wolves, Sunderland, Portsmouth... the league's littered with clubs who were once giants of the game. But history still counts for something. It's all there is, really.
  18. Do the tickets cost a similar amount to here?
  19. The Germans probably have a word for that.
  20. I think you're right. But I think it won't be as easy as some of the people who think the people who think it won't be as easy as some people think are wrong think. I think.
  21. Revenge for 1992. I like it!
  22. If this guy did come in the summer... And if he was made skipper... And if he took charge of tactics... We'd be playing Captain Sensi-ball. I'll get my coat.
  23. Well you don't really need much intelligence to play most sport! Hence the joke about the 1980s footballer with 2 CSEs being given the dressing room nickname 'Brains,' and the fact that brainy people and sporty people don't always overlap.
  24. Should be a thread about rubbish dogs too, called the bollocks dogs.
  25. I know there's a thread for dogs, but there really should be one for dogs bollocks too. Call it The Dogs Bollocks and it really would be the dogs bollocks.
