This is it. In any other successful club under-performing players or management are identified and managed properly and if the performance cannot be improved they are managed out and replaced with those who can. Football is quite unique in the way it operates compared to other businesses and all clubs suffer to an extent due to the way contracts work in the sport but our complacency and lack of professional care stands out. A singular example is the lack adequate striker options this season which would have made a real difference.

Yes we brings a solid presence to the defence and an air of authority. I thought he looked secure on the ball too. I think his presence rubbed off a bit on Thomas who had a good game today.

Up until recently I would have agreed with you but in recent games I think skipp has really stepped up to be a player that I didn’t think he was capable of being any more. More importantly was the affect he had on the teamwork morale and cohesiveness as shown in the Bristol game. If he regresses to his old self then sure but he deserves the shirt at the moment. QPR wasn’t great but neither was anyone else. We have also seen him and winks play well together lately which I find just as surprisingly welcome but at a cost of dropping james or Mukasa. Not advisable other than to avoid overloading them.

I always felt that way until his recent upturn in form which is important for our current predicament. Fair play to him. It’s not his fault the club paid too big a fee. I always felt he struggled with being paired alongside Winks but he has done a lot to disprove that in the last few games. Who wouldn’t dislike playing alongside that arrogant player even if he is talented.

When I was watching it live last night you could see it happening and unfold. I remember thinking don’t go into that and then that we were in trouble as it unfolded. He will learn and get better but I thought he looked very promising last night. I also thought the penalty was a bit soft as their player ran offline to make contact with Ben to draw the foul. Again experience and the lack of it.

Agreed. It was only mavidi Ayew and haribo who I felt weren’t quite at the party. Mukasa is some talent. Might rub off on the likes of page and manga. To be fair to Rowett he probably has to watch their minutes given the big game on Saturday.

I agree. I try so hard to find positives in him being here. He is a liability tracking back in and around our goal and offers little offensively. He has been breaking things up better and improved his retention and passing but the like of jordan james and Mukasa come straight in and eclipse him. How much was he. I’d bring on page or the like. Whatever Rowett is doing it is working. Skipp is playing well in a team with Winks. Never thought I’d say that.

I would start skipp first half and swap him with winks in the second or even vice versa. Skipp is better on his own and takes more responsibility. When he plays with winks he seems to cower into submission mode. Winks seems to do better coming on.
