The management has the system in place to ensure what happened with Ward should not happen. If the player is out of form, doesn’t fit the system or simply not good enough then the manager doesn’t put them on the team sheet. If the manager proves incompetent then the senior management get someone in who is better. Just as in any workplace it is too often the junior staff who pay the price of incompetence and lethargy of those at the top.

I didn’t say he was or wasn’t. But whilst we are comparing them we will lose the £12 m fee for him and I can see us losing just as much on skipps purchase price.
