  1. Fathers day sunday lunch and too many day time beers and a cheeky whisky. Fek it, lets just keep Ruud and actually give him some tools to do the job properly. All this pi55ing around right now is actually doing my head in. I think the youth actually look up to him and in retrospect he handled Monga well. Ruud was actually calling out the problem players (Winks, Vesty etc) which is what we actually want. I'd rather not have someone come in to tickle their balls.
  2. Just think about it - fans still turn up to watch dross everywhere (well - apart from Blackburn it seems). Some fans will turn up just to give their owners / management sh1t. Football is in my blood, and I'm like a big % of club fans out there who aren't glory hunters. The recent home matches have seen quite significant anti board / rudkin messages. We even had a plane go around and do its thing. I don't go away but every game i have watched later this season has seen the same reaction from the fans. We have have been relegated twice in 3 seasons, the content on socials will be damning, i am sure there was a significant reduction in season ticket retentions, the owners are at war with both the PL and EPL, and i bet the owners are finding harder and harder to deal with agents to get players / playing staff in and out. There are more than enough performance metris out there telling our board and ownership that is ISN'T working right now, before we get to other fans complaining to me that i renewed my season ticket. My take is the board are aware more and ever about it, and that's the reason for the radio silence. All they have ever known is a fan base that adores them. They genuinely don't know how to handle it.
  3. I support the club, not the owners. Right now the owners aren't performing and need to be held to account, but i dont stop supporting the club. Its not fair to blame fans who bought seasons tickets. The fault lies with the decision makers and owners. Focus the energy on them.
  4. I don't think anything is obvious at all. Even if that were the case you would feel there was evidence that things were in motion to execute what was needed on that date. You would still think there would be some level of communication from the club. Right now, it feels like we don't even have a club. Posting the odd clip of old goals on socials makes things worse for me. That's the sort of thing my son could do. I feel more than ever that there is a complete void of management, or anything, going on. Scary how it got here.
  5. Same industry as me so i know your pain. A lot of it boils down to the sort of person you are. My current company was acquired by a bigger group, and part of that allowed me to relocate to the Midlands and plan out me spending less time on the 'baby' i had created, so to hand it over to the next generation of employees. What's actually happened is GenAI has become this beast of an industry disruptor and i'm currently working harder than i have ever done. Our industry doesn't stand still, and as people interested in technology, driving outcomes and mapping out what our products are capable with all this new wizardry, some of us are simply wired to always needing to be involved. I've just come back from a pretty brutal trip to New York, but some of the meetings i've had have been the best of my career. The brands and agencies we work with are embracing change at a rate i've never seen before. Like you, my work ethic is something thats always been there, and im the only income generator in our home and that just fuels that work ethic. I nudge towards 50 and worry if by body / mind give up before my will does. Right now, i know if i dropped to 3/4 days a week I would just spend the 1/2 days not working doing something industry related anyway. I'm just not ready to do that, although i thought i was. Not really answered you, but miss your posts
  6. ChatGPT says you lie No, Sean Dyche and Danny Röhl have very different footballing styles, especially in the context of the Championship. Sean Dyche Style: Direct, physical, defensively organised. Typical formation: 4-4-2 or variations of it. Philosophy: Prioritises shape, structure, and resilience. Uses long balls, second balls, and set pieces effectively. Example teams: Burnley (most famously), Everton. Championship suitability: Proven and effective at grinding out results, particularly when managing limited squads. Danny Röhl Style: High pressing, possession-based, energetic. Typical formation: 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 with tactical flexibility. Philosophy: Influenced by modern German coaching — proactive, fast transitions, tactical intelligence. Example team: Sheffield Wednesday (where he made a notable impact in 2024–25). Championship suitability: More progressive, but higher risk; requires technically capable players and full buy-in to a demanding style.
  7. Nah - we had to do something. It had got really bad under Cooper and i think there was more rot in the dressing room than we realised. Ruud just turned out to be another bad appointment. But I still maintain we were always on a hiding to nothing with our squad. We just didn't recruit well enough and lost a significant player.
  8. I know he came highly regarded, but whats with this whole 'barry' sh1t. No one on 80k a week is gonna put a shift in for Brian and Barry. Drain the swamp.
  9. So i've been in New York for a bit and out of the loop. Are we actually getting Dych or are we all just freaking out.
  10. It will only happen to them if they pay high fees and wages. I think these 3 clubs steer clear of that, although its possible for any of them to veer away from their models if they start to panic. I think Forest, Villa and Palace are clubs that pay significant wages and are a few mistakes away from getting stung.
  11. That was me. I wasn't saying we should spend our way out of trouble, I was saying that PSR was a noose around our heads to even try and address recruitment mistakes. If a business makes recruitment mistakes, sometimes they need investment and a period of (focussed) losses to turn the ship around - this just happens at crazy scale in football due to the horrible wages paid. We (stupidly) went through a phase of paying players the wages of their potential, rather than what they were worth when we bought them. This probably happened because bigger clubs were sniffing around, and i am sure Brendan had a big part to play in it as well (wasn't his great quote about fixing rough diamonds?). If we had bought Mbeumo we would have put him on a 80k a week deal, where as Brentford were able to pay him far less and be that feeder club. What we did with Daka's deal, only to try and change him and barely play him was unbelieveable. Whilst i have no sympathy for the club with how they got there, i do feel aggrieved that the big 6 can dispose of high earners that haven't worked out. There are a lot of players in that upper tier who are overpaid and not providing value for money. We see how Chelsea have done it and Man U's recruitment is disgusting. Even Spurs stinking out the bottom 4 with massive wages and fees. If we could have dumped Daka and Soumare for a PSR loss, then is likely (i know - but doubtful) that the process to deal with our wages issue could have happened sooner. As things stand, high earners stay on the books and anyway we try and recruit can point there fingers at that and say 'you want me, i need a deal like that'.
  12. 'In the final year of his contract'. Does that imply loan as he runs his contract down?
  13. The thing is, would we be in a better position if PSR didn't exist at all or would we have spent ourselves into oblivion to the verge of bankruptcy? My take on this, is that its overpaying for, and not being able to get rid of deadwood thats the big issue. The fear of getting rid of Patson Daka / Soumare on a PSR loss means you hang on as time improves the book value, and you hope they might come good at some point. But get those guys down to the last year of the contracts and they are most likely to hang on and leave for a free. If we had been able to dump some of these earlier, the club would incur manageable losses and hopefully refresh the squad. Overpaying was still a stupid position for the club to take.
  14. He likes the getting paid part.
  15. Dont recall the season ticket saying who the manager of the club is. I have one because i support Leicester and that goes beyond who the DoF is.
  16. Yes - but if compensation was based on win %'s, no manager would be signing a contract to a team in a relegation dogfight. Win %'s are low down there and not always a reflection on the managers ability. I hate where we have got with both players and managers contracts, but we have to play the same game as everyone else. Its an are where those with the deepest pockets ruin it for everyone else.
  17. Insurance premiums on these players must be as bad as the wages.
  18. Ralf Little up front.
  19. He doesn’t want to be here anymore. He’s 2 years older than the last time we started in the Championship. As much as I love him he doesn’t represent the future of the club, and he’s on very high wages. I’m not really sure where this one goes. I can see him staying and I’m sure he will put in all the effort he can do. But then, can see him going to Chelsea as backup and getting some decent game time in. I wish he was 25 years old and injury free.
  20. Lol - naturally! But he's a bit older since last time. Love Riccy. One of the nicest i've met outside the stadium too.
  21. He will do well at Rangers. The absolute worst he can do is come 2nd, and the longer Brendan spends at Celtic to more likely he will implode. Could be the gateway to the Spurs job in a few years Thats when the fun will begin.
  22. We were playing pedestrian possession football in the Championship that bored the pants off the fans. No matter what way you look at it, the PL is another level. The last 2 seasons he has spent in the PL have been plagued by injury - that's not a coincidence.
  23. What a great appointment for them. I reckon he will be a massive success. #envy
  24. Didn’t she star in the original version of The Parent Trap.
