I suggest a 2 point plan. Only make good decisions Stop making bad decisions We do have a habit of overcomplicating things.

Saints (H) Pre-match - The El Shatico

Vardy has 2 home games left and its a great time to spend with my boy and ill get some beers / food after. Judge all you want - the football might be crap but i can spend my day how i want. -
Those clubs dont have time machines.

Wilf is done - he was found out several seasons ago. Every now and again (aka West Ham home) he puts in a good performance with good tackling stats, but his limitations expose him and the game has moved on. He still offers something in the Championship but as time ticks away he has clearly shown he doesn't have the appetite for it now. The championship is a grind - you have to be dedicated to it. Be interesting to see who takes a punt. Few seasons a ago there were rumours about Forest, but i cant see him getting a sniff in that side right now.

He was ok before he got injured. After that he was bang average.

I remember when Tielemans had a purple patch (scoring bangers frequently) that many on here would say 'just write the cheque and pay him what he wants'. We cant have it both ways, but i think everything knows that our approach to recruitment needs to change.

When it comes to contracts we have to play the market. Its no good saying 'pay them £10k a week and only give them bonuses' when even the likes of Palace will pay Eduoard 90k a week. You simply won't sign anyone. Right now, we are not playing in Crystal Palaces market, but the principle is the same. The market is dominated by shitty agents, player power and PSR dictating longer amortised contracts. Any of these PL teams paying big money can find themselves where we are if it goes wrong. Arguably, Spurs, West Ham and Man U have got it horribly wrong but just not as bad as we did, but they are suffering from poor recruitment and big wages. I like to think we got caught out going for top 4. By caught out, i think everyone bought into Brendan's 'Rough Diamond' approach and paid over the odds for players they thought could be good enough if the great coach () could work his magic. We are still paying the price for that recruitment. We have to accept that to be successful with both recruitment and the academy, we have to be a feeder club and be seen as a good feeder club, which we aren't really at the moment. Players like Macallister, Trossard, Cucurella and Caicedo (to name a few), didn't go to Brighton for the trappings of success. They went because it was the best route to a bigger club and bigger wages. It's a cliche, but a reset is needed and i would like to see that in the board as well. I'd like to see a more data driven approach and one that bucks the current trend that uses the Academy more and ensuring recruitment is based around resale. No more buying old 'leaders' on big wages, or keeping people for longer than we should (Vardy, Ndidi and Vesty). Identify the next generation of leaders and nurture them. We can still play the market doing this, we just have to admit that we aren't going to be a top 4 club again (unless we can pull a Forest style season together, but i think they are going to miss out on that).

He got found out in our first relegation season. Enzo adapted him in the championship and it worked for the first half of the season. Ndidi was pretty poor after he came back from injury. Since his return from injury this season he’s been largely found out again. I just don’t think there is much of a place for Ndidi in the PL anymore.

El Pringlesio -
So funny that when he had a good game (was it Liverpool away ?) there were posters saying we should be building the team around him. Love the Saudi comment in that post. I doubt they would be that bothered as he's not a known name and seems to spend his life homesick.

What’s the plan for the next five games
Chelmofox replied to JimmyC74's topic in Leicester City Forum
I think he’s going to play the same team that lost all those games in a row just to prove some sort of a point. I personally want to dump anyone who won’t be here next year, but there are issues with that as well. There will be those who we know are gone (Faes and Ndidi), so just ‘Winks’ them although Ndidi has been good for us in the past. Dumping Mads could be problematic and hurt his value. Ideally play those who are happy to fight next year and promote the academy kids who we think are ready. But as we still have a manager who himself doesn’t want to be here, I think doing anything ‘right’ at the moment is out of the question. -
1 goal Daka. 1 effing goal. And I’m still not convinced he meant to hit it in the top left corner.

Oh come on mate, you know he’ll be there. -
He is an ugly asshole.

Was good. Well done him

By joining a club that had been relegated, he must have known that if promoted it was a tough, tough ask to stay up. His comments sound a bit like he just expected to stay up - which seems to have been a an attitude around the club. Our approach to this season was so wrong. Terrible all around.

If Sheff Weds fans are whinging about Rohl, then more fool them. Don't be fooled by a microcosm of fans being 'right', and these days fans whine about any manager. Just look at the LCFC fans that didnt want Brendan to go.

He couldnt fit that many letters on his cock. -
He wasnt ready and this loan is what he needs. You need the bad games as well as the good. Still a lot of hope for him.

Seen Youri score many of those bangers.

The problem for us this season is we haven't had any that have been ready. For the PL, ready means at that level. Being ready takes time. We've seen Monga being introduced and Alves has started to show some decent form but in a relegation threatened loan team. Maybe Nelson is one that i would have considered ready but i also understand why he was loaned. But i dont think the Academy players have screamed 'ready to get 40+ points' this season. I would like to see a 2-3 year plan for our team now, with Academy players as the focus. That may mean that getting promoted next season isn't the best thing for us. Also, our fans will have to cope with the fact that some of them may still be developing in year 1 and not always be at their best every week. I'd take mid table next season if it meant we developed our guys to a level that meant we could challenge over the following few seasons. -

Not sure i buy into that. Southampton were pretty ropey in last season and were pretty fortunate to play a collapsing Leeds side. Always felt Southampton were going to ne the ones that struggled. With ourselves, i always felt the only way we stayed up is if we scraped 17th. Palace and Wolves put an end to that with their recent form. We just don't have the current players to get 40+ points.
