"Set to sign" Let's not be too hasty now friend. We drop it after he's signed and not before.
-
That's a big thumbs up to Cifuentes. A few days with Coady and he's (at the very least) sanctioned him fvcking off. I'd like to think he was banging Rudkin's door down to get this over the line.
-
The same Meslier who has been linked to us in the media last week you mean? Hopefully a load of balls. Dropped by Leeds and he is a bomb scare. Stolarczyk is fine, has huge potential and we have much more pressing areas to spend our money in I reckon.

The Green Dragon was decent for beer when i went a year ago. Also worth a walk to Whitby brewery for a pint and pizza with nice views. Best fish and chips we had was at a place called Fisherman's Wife. Well worth eating in and getting a table overlooking the harbour.
-
Must have stayed in Whitby 6 or 7 times both as a child and then as a adult. My go to for a nostalgic trip away.

Really not fussed. Look poor every time I saw him last season. I say this and, of course, Swansea will sign him and he'll be fantastic for them.
-
Couldn't agree more. It's not the signing itself it is the pattern of behaviour. It would be a signing that confirms what we already strongly suspect. We've learnt nothing. The alarm bells are ringing because he wants a new challenge and project. Surely that means Europe, maybe joining Celtic or Rangers. If he joins us it will be purely because we've offered generous terms not because he is remotely interested in another slog in the championship. The only way I'd accept this is if Marti is going to really go hard playing youth, we clear out loads of ageing dross (haha!) and we see Brownhill as short term goals and experience whilst academy players grow into their roles.

Am I missing something because the article itself seems to bear no resemblance to the headline? All I can see is a quote from Cifuentes saying all players in the friendlies are being considered for first team places. Then also mentions (without provding a source) we won't sell Coady without having an experienced replacement ready even though we've got an old, slow defender ready to step up in Vesty. None of it rings true to me. Wouldn't be surprised if he goes nowhere because he's on big wages mind.

Unfortunately Vestergaard has already proven he's happy to sit on his giraffe sized arse and collect a fat salary.

A bit like this sort of post had been posted a million times. And here's my reply, that's been posted a million times in one form or another. Nobody is holding a gun to your head. The thread title is pretty clear about the subject matter. No need for you to enter and comment. There is always an element of repetition on a forum dedicated to a particular topic, I really don't know why people give a sh1t.

Some argue we arent bad at selling players rather we are bad at buying them which means we're left with assets we can't move on. But I'm with you on this Ric. It's definitely more than just that, although that of course is an important part of the problem. Remember this in the Athletic, just one unequivocal example of the clubs terrible decision making when considering offers for players near the end of their contract: "In May, Dennis Praet, who has now left the club as a free agent, told Belgian news outlet Nieuwsblad that Leicester rejected permanent bids for him from Italian side Torino because “they thought I was too good, useful and versatile to let me go on the cheap." I have no doubt this sort of thing has happened numerous times, costing untold millions.

Anyone who is over 40 knows injury risk is most profound when getting out of bed after a hard night's sleep.
-
Actually I think one of the main reasons Riccy stayed fit in the championship is he played an inverted role under Maresca, spending more time in the middle than a trad RB. The issue I see for Riccy with Cifuentes style is the fullbacks push very high and centrally at times and then need to cover a lot of ground. He absolutely has the creativity and skill for that role, but does he have the fitness? If we could move him on I would but very unlikely given his injury record and wages. Hopefully he proves me wrong and stays fit because technically he's about as good as we've got.

We should have been looking to get rid of those players much earlier, even at small losses. Now they will just sit out the final year knowing they'll get a nice fat sign on fee next season wherever they go. Obviously much of the damage was done years ago when we signed this crap on silly wages. But the fact we keep making the same mistakes time and again is absolutely horrendous. You can just see Bilal and Hermanson leaving whilst we don't shift anyone in the last year of their contract or who is surplus to requirements. Even for small fees.

Yeah he came on briefly in one of the friendlies. Looked fine but it was pretty much a cameo. But for whatever reason doesn't seem fancied because you'd think he would fit well into Cifuetnes system.

Blokes wearing a scarf indoors in the middle of summer. Yes @StriderHiryuI'm talking about your colleague on blue tinted glasses. Was at a loose end this morning thought I'd switch on the live chat thing. Immediately see a geezer older than me wearing a scarf indoors. I can't accept that Strider. Unless he's suffering from pneumonia. Had to switch off. Bet he queues in a pub.

I find if I start using the back of their trousers to dry your hands it really hurries things along

100% this was people my age or older, mid forties up. I did feel entirely smug when a (20ish) barmaid screamed out; can you please make use of the bar you are blocking the entrance!
-
Speaking to my charlton supporting family members I'm not sure they have accepted him yet either! It won't happen but it would be delicious if Forest went down and had to flog him off cheap next year. Edit: whoops the old accidental double quote!

If we are playing Coady and Vestergaard with what we think Cifuentes system is going to be then I will give up. Either he's not the manager I am hoping for or Okoli really is incredibly bad. Surely he prioritises athleticism in one CB over passing ability. We saw Okoli press very high in one of the friendlies. Something Faes used to do in the Championship in fairness. I just think it is too early to judge what team he's going to play. I said in another thread I think we could do with another 8, a LB and a forward. Assuming we use Okoli/Faes/Nelson as CBs. However, shipping out Ndidi/Soumare, Coady, VK etc. will not be easy. Also let's just keep in mind that the Championship is pretty shit. I was surprised just how bad it was last time. I really think we'll be fine depending on points deductions. None of this excuses the shit show that got us here.
-
Fair enough, entitled to you opinion. My observations may have been wrong, but overall I think I'll judge after he's had more than a week under the new regime. Yeah, he may well turn out to be irredeemable but I saw some positives and I'll give him fair crack of the whip this season.

Ex commercial property solicitor here. Haven't practiced for a while. Is your property registered or not? I am assuming not as your surveyor is referencing a conveyance not the Land Registry title plan? Or is she disputing the red line on the title plan? If it is registered and the red line of your title is where you believe it should be, and there is not reference to it being a party wall or shared boundary erect the fence and tell her politely to go forth and multiply. If she tries to do anything to the fence then it's criminal damage. But getting plod interested will be nigh on impossible. But you could threaten to sue. Sad to say these sorts of disputes particularly with ars3holes are a nightmare. If your property is not registered then put in an application to register it ASAP on the basis of the conveyance you mention. This should be a factual dispute, If the boundary is clearly marked on the conveyance and your advisor is 100% sure on where it should be situated then play hard ball. The only thing that muddies the water is if she has some counter evidence, but it seems unlikely. Her property must be registered if she only just purchased it. Get her title plan as well from the land registry to compare the boundary line. The title register is key. If that doesn't show a shared boundary she will need to provide evidence as to why it is and why thst should be amended by the Land Registry. You'll need a solicitor to advise you really. If you are comfortable emailing the copy title registers and any deeds to me including the conveyance and your surveyors advice I am happy to have a look...

I am sure this has featured before but people queuing at empty bars. What the fvck are you doing people? For time immemorial man and indeed woman have walked to any part of the bar that is not occupied. Today I strolled up to the bar and ordered a pint and my lunch whilst a load of people were queuing in a neat straight line. Got a few dirty looks but nobody was going to question a 6ft skin head, even if at heart I am a woke liberal hipster because I watch stryders football tactics piece on YouTube and had heard of Cifuentes before we appointed him. Which leads me onto another thing. People without the critical thinking to make reasoned arguments on the forum so instead resort to calling other folk a hipster because they have a differing opinion. That's better.

It was tongue in cheek to an extent. But he's off 90% sure of that. Maybe 88%. And we need the money, Stoly looks solid and Marti needs to bring at least a couple in. He's our most saleable asset without causing us huge issues in the same way flogging Bilal will.

Goodbye Hermanson and good luck my love.
