Unexpected?
Absolutely. When the gaffer called me up to say I'd won player of the season, I thought it was a prank call! But no, I'm honoured to have achieved such a prestigious award and I'd like to thank all the fans that voted for me. I think they've acknowledged the work I've done on the training ground this year and of course, it's great to see that my seven appearances on the bench haven't gone unnoticed.
Favourite moment?
Probably when the ball came over to the substitutes bench during the second half of the Liverpool game. I managed to quickly pick it up and throw it over to Timothy [Castagne] who was able to take a quick throw and create an attack from which we nearly scored a consolation goal. I also made a great save from a shot from Kiernan [Dewsbury-Hall] in the pre-match warm up against Walsall. I definitely heard a fan behind me say what a great save that was, and that I should probably be considered for a starting position ahead of Danny Ward.
Message to the fans?
I know everyone will be disappointed at the results this season. But really, we are where we are, and everyone now needs to come together and focus on the job for next season.
