Not much in the way of tactics there. Put all our big lads in, and hope they can outjump their big lads at set pieces.

I was in the front row of the double decker, right above the goal. We were under intense pressure towards the end, and one of our defenders, Marc North I think, headed a corner out from under the crossbar. Strangely, I remember that more than the goal.

Now that the red sh1t are staying up, I don't really care who goes down with us. I've been resigned to relegation for weeks now, and yet a little part of me is still hoping for a miracle. Is there still time to fly the monks in before Monday night?

This should never have been prioritised above player recruitment and stadium expansion. We should rename its The Folly", and given our owners affinity with elephants, we should erect a statue of a big white one by the entrance.

Manager for the Championship rebuild - who do you want?
F T Fagos replied to Happy Fox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Don't understand our boards obsession with ex Swansea managers. Sousa, Rodgers and Martin (apparently). Don't be surprised to see an approach for Steve Cooper come the end of the season. Not that I'm advocating it. -
Manager for the Championship rebuild - who do you want?

Smith looks like a man who's realised he's bitten off more than he can chew. I think we'll shake hands and go our separate ways. Pleased to hear we won't be getting Martin, if the stories are true. -
If he finds Plymouth a bit of a stretch, wait 'till he hears where Rotherham play their home games!
-
Yes. When we buy the new shirt, we won't get ripped off having to pay extra for a Premier League badge.
-
Looking at the fixtures and points situation, I reckon we need two wins and a draw to stand a chance of staying up.It ain't happening folks. Accept it.

Marsch is definitely not the answer. The board have left it too late to get an interim man in, so must either stay with the current set up or give someone a long contract. What makes the decision more difficult, is although we are really poor, we are not adrift and still have games against those around us. If we were already down, it would be more simple. Keep the current pair until the end of the season, then try and get a hungry young manager with new ideas and a bit of imagination. If Burnley can do it ,why can't we ? They also rebuilt their squad, bringing in 20 new players. I think someone like Cambiasso would be worth a punt, and would be welcomed by the fans. I know Vardy had issues with him, but that was 8 years ago, and would be largely irrelevant anyway, by now. Not sure the board would go down that route though

MK Dons Away (Carabao Cup) Date TBC Pre-Match Thread

Oops! Completely forgot about Big Dan, probably because he was a late arrival during the Championship winning season. It would be good to see him get the full set also after all the negativity towards him on here. -

This is a great opportunity to progress to the last 8 and with Liverpool playing Man.City , there is a real incentive to go all out to get to the final. Everyone is beatable and how fantastic would it be for Vardy and Albrighton to get the full set?. They'll never have a better chance. -
Newcastle (H) - 26 Dec- Pre-match thread
F T Fagos replied to Lambert09's topic in Leicester City Forum
Boxing Day matches are going to be difficult to call. So many players not match fit after such a long lay off, while others will be returning from the World Cup injured or just plain knackered. Then we'll have the January transfer window. It could be the middle of February before everything settles down and form becomes apparent. -
I feel this too. We're mid table, 4 points off seventh place, but also 4 points from bottom 3. I think we definitely need to strengthen in January as we're probably only 1 more injury or departure from the season going pear shaped again.

Everton (A) - 5th Nov - Pre-match Thread

We need to carry on our recent form defensively. A 2-0 win would take us above them on goal difference ,as well as a more respectable league position. -
Fire Brendan Soon ?

Personally, I want everyone to beat Forest. the only exception being if we need Forest to take points off someone else in order to keep us up. Incidentally, if they don't lose tonight and dump us back to the bottom of the league, does that put more pressure on the board to sack Rodgers?

B’mouth v Leicester post match - pathetic again
F T Fagos replied to Jakemoore's topic in Leicester City Forum
The lack of leadership throughout the club is alarming. We have a manager too stubborn to change tactics or personnel, a new defensive coach and yet still give away stupid goals because we try to defend a slender lead, and a team that is both physically and mentally weak. We have become becalmed in a sea of apathy and lethargy and are waiting for something to happen .It won't unless someone at the top makes it happen. Top needs to make the decision now because this crisis is only going to get worse. -
3 out of the 5 have played us, so unless we can improve our defending, that list will be longer as the season progresses.
-
I pretty much agree with this, but then we'd probably end up with one of the other 150 failed and out of work managers !
-
The scary thing is that you may be right. I just want a positive to take from Monday night. Three points or the sack would be a positive. Too much to hope for both.
-
Watching Wolves is like watching us. Plenty of sideways and backwards passing, and no threat going forward until 2-0 down.
-
I remember going to the shitty ground in 1980, a week after losing 5-0 at Old Trafford, and thinking it can't be as bad as last week. It was! .5-0 again. Jock Wallace's newly promoted young side totally outplayed on a thoroughly depressing afternoon. I still feel mentally scarred.

Don't think we were ever dead and buried in the "great escape" season. We were never more than a couple of wins away from 19th and I may be wrong, but I don't think we lost a game by more than 2 goals during the whole season.
