  1. I agree but I’m going on the basis we seem to be completely unbothered by getting him out on loan either so he is just stagnating.
  2. Not really, we seem very very behind. Yes we have had the likes of Barnes, KDH and Chilwell but even then, the hard work has been done by the sides they have been on loan to. When was the last time we actually put faith in our youth players who weren’t already established by other sides? Sorry, when you have 9 substitutes you can name, there is zero excuse for not using one or two of those players for youth players. In fact, when it was increased from 7 to 9, this should have been made a condition that the extra two were club grown.
  3. Unfortunately he’ll have a much better chance of making it if he moves pretty much anywhere else so I absolutely can’t begrudge him wanting to leave as let’s be fair, we kill young players careers so they are right to get out whilst they are young enough. The club deserve to lose these guys like Nyoni and Monga for nothing.
  4. He made a mistake signing a contract until 2028 as he doesn’t have the option of moving for free for another 3 and a half years. Unfortunately by that time, his career will have pretty much been stifled too much to make it at a decent level.
  5. Unfortunately yes, QMC. Always a constant source of disappointment to see that on your passport I think I may have said that previously in defence of KDH who people were saying couldn’t be a Leicester fan as he was born in Nottingham!
  6. The Middle Eastern countries and regimes are obviously vile and that has been done to death with the Newcastle stuff. Im not sure you can compare a Chinese business owner, Yank equity firms or KP with Musk though. They might all be dubious in the business world and have dodgy dealings. Musk though, is a vile human who is intent on interfering and disrupting world peace. If he just ran his businesses without trying to interfere with politics of countries he has nothing to do with or using his platforms to spread his, quite frankly, disgusting views, then he would be more in line with the examples you gave.
  7. I do think people saying they would be pleased for them etc because they don’t live locally or don’t know Forest fans etc are either trying to play the same ‘I don’t care’ game as Forest fans do or just completely miss the point. I don’t hate Forest. I grew up on an area of Leicestershire that borders Notts and have relatives who are sound people who are Forest fans. But they are a regional rival of our club, no matter where you are based. Personally, I have taken pride in us being the top team in our region for many years and it sucks that their resurgence has coincided with us turning to shit. I’d love for us to both be challenging at the right end of the table as it’d be good for the region but I don’t want them to rub in our failings by doing what we are no longer. Also, for every side outside of the usual suspects that gets top 4, Newcastle, Villa in the last two years and if Forest do this year, it year on year compounds that what many people classed as success from Rodgers was actually, as many of us said back then, abject failure. I hope everyone can recognise that now.
  8. I would have previously. When was it he was last linked. When Rodgers went? Feels like before that. But yeah we are just so easy to beat and have been for year, under Enzo and Rodgers and of course this season. He probably wouldn’t be a long term fix but I would like to see a Leicester side who don’t just fold under pressure for the first time in a while.
  9. Dyche 100% was keeping Everton up. My view, they can only be more likely now to be dragged into it (not to say they will but it is more likely).
  10. I’ve been critical of Top and lost faith in him but this is an extremely well worded and articulate summary of the likely situation. As you say though, all that said, the situation does demand action. But all you have put above there, if he showed the inclination to make the necessary changes, I would support him again. But there doesn’t seem any sign of that yet.
  11. Yeah I haven’t noticed it elsewhere. Mods must be censoring the topic…
  12. Not to be that person quoting themselves but interesting that on this thread only, my post was awaiting approval….clearly not to do with any inappropriate content as it was just the post I have flagged here. Anyone else had this message?
  13. Spot on. You can already see the panic setting in with the extra games now going on general sale. They will get a bigger shock as and when we end up back circa 2004-2008.
  14. I’d imagine it was probably easier comparatively for you lot to be ok with us winning it back in 2016 than us for you now (winning or top 4 etc) based on how we ourselves have fallen and of course even after the title, being in your position now for 2 years and failing to capitalise. If you do any of that as a local side, it will just compound our own failings and fall from the top club in the region.
  15. I can’t see that holding up legally if challenged by De Marco. The PL should be consistent and not making it as as they go based on their feelings towards a particular club so whilst what you say makes perfect sense, I couldn’t see it holding up.
  16. Firstly they won’t. We were 5000/1. That is once is 5000 years that a story like that would happen. Ok, the odds were extreme and you could replace 5000 with 300 or 250 but still won’t happen within 10 years. Would I want them to. Absolutely not. I don’t hate them but I find their denial about us amusing. However, even if Derby are their main rival, they can argue with an atlas or or Google Maps all they like but we are regional rivals within the East Midlands region. Pretty identically sized clubs with their own peak times in different eras, sharing a county border, families (mine including) split between the two clubs. I have taken pride in us leading the way in the region and I hate that our implosion has coincided with their revival rather than us competing alongside each other. I also think it means they take our edge that we had when it comes to picking up local talent. So no, from a Leicester point of view, I don’t see how anyone could honestly say they want Forest to win the league unless trying to do exactly what we laugh at their fans for doing.
  17. Maybe. Obviously it has been done to death on this forum and of course I don’t want to watch bygone hoof it etc. But how we did it in 2016 and Forest now, why would anyone turn their noses up at that? Fast tempo, counter attacks and defending well. On the one hand, they are in the top 4, scored more, conceded many many less, have a buzzing atmosphere and fans enjoying themselves. We can’t score, concede for fun and have fans bored and leaving with 20 minutes to do and a dead atmosphere. All by trying to ‘play the right way’
  18. Top/Rudkin can’t even sort out a transfer between two clubs they own/are DOF for
  19. I presume many of our fans would be disgusted if we played the way Forest are and were sat in the CL spots!
  20. Oh I don’t particularly have faith that the board and Top will make the right decisions, they will more likely go for someone who is a yes man and have the dreaded ‘experience’. But I was just making the point that their are young, up and coming managers who are working in restricted circumstances and are earning their stripes in the leagues just below where we will be next season (or the league itself in Rohl’s case but I do think he’ll have better offers soon).
  21. I am right in saying you are Sheffield based? Seems familiar form what you may have previously said…
  22. Different kind of living in the past. The likes of Notts Forest and Leeds bore everyone with what they won back when tv was in black and white and man landed on the moon for the first time. They refuse to believe their place in the current football world. We just seem the opposite that the club and fans have an inferiority complex and think we should be back in the lower reaches of the Championship or god forbid, League 1 and this exempts the club from criticism whilst it is being run into the ground.
  23. Not all managers would. People like Rohl at Sheffield Wednesday. Worked under a maniac, Thai man child (sound familar), little budget and got Wednesday from cut adrift (5 points at the end of November when he took over) to safety and now pushing for the playoff positions little over a year on. Other managers who are doing the yards at a lower level. Even someone like our own Richy Wellens who has taken Leyton Orient from the lower reaches of League 2 to just outside the playoffs in League 1, winning the league and playing good football on the way. Guys like these can work on difficult circumstances without a blank chequebook and would see us as a step up.
  24. Come on, Fulham rock up in a couple of weeks, comfortable 2-0 lead at which point they take their foot off the gas, we get one back and huff and puff without them being in real trouble and it ends 2-1. We know how it goes by now.
