  1. Let's just say politics and leave it at that. A quick Google might assist you if you want more details.
  2. That's what I was thinking when I saw them linked. The took a punt on that striker now heading to Newcastle last summer and now could use that fee to sign a couple of players to replace him. Look to develop them up and cash in again. BEK could be one.
  3. If we were seriously looking at him then a one year deal with a fairly average to low base salary but quite high incentives would be the obvious way to go. Option of second and third year. Give him the chance to rebuild his career but low outlay from us if it's not working, for him he gets the chance to show he's still go it and then either stay or go depending on the offers he gets.
  4. Yeah those tax laws do make a huge difference.
  5. That's what did for us under Rogers. We signed players to fill out the squad and ended up with a bloated squad most of whom weren't going to challenge the first team and who's wages no one else would take on. Daka, Soumare, Vestegaard and Bertrand in the summer of 2021 was catastrophic.
  6. Reads more like he's only interested in making signings if they are going to improve the starting XI. If they aren't a guaranteed starter then he's happy with what he's got.
  7. Personally I'd settle for half the salary and stay in Europe but I appreciate I'm probably in the minority.
  8. From that article; "After Palace's 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest at the weekend, manager Oliver Glasner said he was "very confident" the club would make new signings before deadline day on Monday following a quiet transfer window." New signings plural. Having done next to no business so far expect Palace to make a few moves before the end of the window. Particularly with other clubs still eyeing up their players.
  9. Lacking a natural target man in those four. We've needed one of those for years. Alcacer might be worth a punt up top of we have no cash for a transfer.
  10. If he can go and earn £100k a year in the desert then good luck to him. Sign for three years and his grandkids will never have to work a day in their lives. Probably great grandkids too if he gets a second set of three years out there. Who needs morals when you can have money.
  11. Kellyman is from Derby as well so be the chance for him to have a loan closer to home. Loan with an option to buy on promotion could work.
  12. As long as he or Chelsea are happy to forgo/cover 70% if his wages.
  13. The club might also be trying to create a bit of a bidding war what with Spurs interested. Drive up the value. Dangerous game could net us an extra £5m if we're lucky.
  14. and rumours linking them with Rogers if the owner really has fallen out with the manager. They can be reunited.
  15. Four or five is optimistic this late in the window unless they are frees and loan signings. I'd be happy with just a striker capable of leading the line. If we can add a box to box midfielder worth his salt then bonus.
  16. Has been a good servant but has also struggled in more recent times. The squad needs a refresh so time to move on and good luck to him at Leeds.
  17. I think he'll be a good keeper. Young keepers do tend to make mistakes whilst they are developing.
  18. A physical presence up top that can actually head the ball would make a nice change. It's what we've needed for several years as an alternative or support act to Vardy.
  19. Lots on this forum have been desperate for a squad overhaul, "drain the swamp" etc. can't complain of Rudkin actually starts to move players on. Admittedly I'll be less impressed if his inactivity in terms of signings to replace them remains as it is.
  20. Winks is good at this level. If we can get Faes, Daka and Soumare out the door for actual cash and not covering their salaries that would help quite a bit in terms of the financials with limited impact on the starting XI (I know Soumare has been starting but he hasn't been good).
  21. Because it gives Millwall a quick profit to reinvest? Because we are a bigger and more successful club than Millwall?
  22. Top via KP (or maybe directly) will have loaned the club money previously for players, development, whatever. The money from the sale would then repay that loan and end up back in Thailand. KP did forgive an amount of debt held by the club at one point though, I've not gone to look at the accounts for full details.
  23. Pearson left before KP took over. Mandaric wanted to lighten the wage bill (Pearson was expensive) and have the squad playing prettier football to try and get a better deal for the club/get the deal over the line. KP took a while to learn English football but still delivered some of the best times to be a Leicester fan. Top doesn't seem to have the same ability his dad had that's for certain, maybe he'll still come good but there's a big financial mess to clear up first.
  24. Having spent the previous season in League 1 the lowest the club had ever been in the football pyramid. Hardly roaring success.
  25. Rumours are Palace are bidding £30m but we've successfully renegotiated the deal to £15m plus Édouard.
