Its interesting that last in 2016 many didn't believe he had a chance of beating Hilary, yet he did. I wonder (hope) if this time around the opposite is true. Once again though we have to question the crazy system that puts two barely coherent old men at the top of the ballot to become leader of the worlds most powerful nation.

What Happens if we don’t get promoted

Its a ****ing horror show honestly. -
The people of Rochdale sending a signal to the Labour Party! Not sure what the signal is though, possibly something about candidate selection? Or cat suits?

We can only hope they are Russian bots and not utter morons.

That is sad to hear. Unfortunately due to entitled arseholes you end up with what feels like jobsworth behaviour from just about any customer facing organisation these days.
-
I hope so too, but my point is that there are other jobs which would also make you feel you were making a difference without the awful side dish of vitriol and abuse which seem to be standard for politicians these days. Interestingly I had dinner with a Western Australia minister, mla (mp) and the ministers chief of staff last night, and the chief of staff who would no doubt make an excellent politician with passion and purpose was very clear that he won’t do so because the sacrifice is too much. Sad state of affairs imo.

I'm, not sure I agree, I think we have a lack of talented people because one can have a much nicer life in just about any other career and people who make good politicians have those choices available to them. Treat people like shit long enough and you put everyone off. Not the only career which lacks the respect it should deserve in the modern age, but certainly one of them.

Tim Minchin Saturday just gone and PWEI on Sunday coming. Slightly different genres, I do have eclectic taste!

I can confirm that is hotter than when I was there in 2003. We are all going to die*. *eventually and of something.

Like Dominic Cummings, wants to rip up the civil service without doing any of the hard work of a) getting elected and put in a position of power or b) working his way up through the civil service. Oh and taking zero accountability for anything. Its not really a positive. If you cannot by the time you are in your 40s stand up and speak about what you think you can bring to running the country then politics was never for you.

Decent politicians.

Am I surprised? No, the guy is an idiot. Glad to see him suspended. The problem for the conservatives these days is half their MPs seem to be idiots in different ways, and I am not so sure this isn't true across politics.
-
Quite different cases imo, and I think the fact that Islamist terrorism has been a lot more prominent in recent years is a factor in the responses.

Transparency is the best cleaner there is. I think my main question is who is "WE" in your argument? I fear unless you can align pretty much the entire developed world all at once it is hard to overstate the impact that such measures would have on a single economy. Then you lose the next election,, policies are reversed, and you achieved the exact opposite of what you were aiming for.

Option 3) The dog is a bit mental and keeps getting away with it.

I believe a lot of people turn to dogging.

Opportunity can be bestowed, but you also have to seize it.

Do we? I must have missed that.

Yes indeed. I can see why a cleaning company would have a rule about not taking anything from a customer site. What I cannot understand is why anyone would go so far as to complain to their employer about a leftover sandwich which they were literally going to put in the bin. You really have to wonder about some people.

Every cloud has a silver lining etc.

What? Nothing to do with being poor. Arseholes are too arseholey to own dogs. If they weren't we wouldn't need to ban them. Same probably applies to guns for that matter.

What happens if they let Hamas hide in hospitals, schools, apartment buildings, shopping centres and anywhere else with innocent people in them? It would be impossible to achieve their objective of eradicating Hamas from Gaza. Given Hamas know the IDF will come into the hospital to find them, I think you have to put equal blame on Hamas. for being there. Sadly neither side in this awful conflict seems to care much about the death toll on innocent civilians.
