  1. I am amused. He didn't actually say he accepted, but he couldn't leave Piers hand there without shaking it. Comedy.
  2. Most countries do, so if they later find you lied (which obviously you would if you were indeed affiliated) then they can kick you out easily for lying on your visa form which means you were illegal.
  3. Ultimately the Palestinian groups such as Hamas and IJ are trouble which Egypt and others do not need. They don't want to be like Lebanon and be overrun with Iran backed militant groups. Why would they? Just becuase they are Arab doesn't mean they like Palestinians very much.
  4. Obviously not ideal for a manager to be shagging a player, but as long as it was consensual this looks like them wanting rid and taking this as the reason.
  5. Getting relegated is tough, probably much tougher than they thought.
  6. Exactly, if he is this fragile he is not going to make it at the top that is for sure.
  7. If this is true (which I doubt) the man needs to grow up a little. He is in fantastic job at a good club which took a big chance on him with sod all management experience. He is what 6 months in and doing well, but has not finished the job. Technically nothing achieved yet. He spent money in the summer and has a very strong squad for the league. Throwing toys out of the pram over one window would be a little ridiculous.
  8. Win!
  9. I reckon most potential transfers don't happen because they are part of a chain and one link says no or fails a medical.
  10. Stating this as fact just suggests you are rather ill informed of the history of the region to be honest. It is much more complicated than that.
  11. That’ll do, caught the last ten minutes as I’m up early!
  12. True, but if you drop a tonne of feathers on someone from 100ft, I would bet its easier to deal with than a tonne of steel.
  13. I suppose the important question is whether there is really a totalitarian master plan behind Trump to control the people or indeed start a genocide against the Mexicans or gays. Many people find that hard to believe, and just think rather that the populists are playing the existing thoughts of the community for their own gain. More alarming is the ability through social media and AI to target ever smaller subsets of the voter base with a personalized messages to get them on your side, while masking what you are saying to everyone else. Scary, and perhaps more so when targeted at other countries.
  14. In a moment of either genius or madness I signed up for F45 gym yesterday. Went this morning at 7am. It hurts. Need to do something though, hopefully this is it for mental and physical health. Fully funded by buying fewer bottles of wine.
  15. Poland could beat Russia & Belarus on their own tbh, so with or without the US, NATO is more than strong enough to fight off Russia.
  16. Those generals have got some lovely boats in marinas in Turkey though!
  17. No need for the pregnant pause there, this isn't would I lie to you ffs.
  18. Try to look at it from the managers perspective. Firstly they are really talking about booking a week or two weeks holidays, not the odd day off for a funeral or whatever. Nowhere does it say they wouldn't allow you to change a holiday day if needed, and I am sure any decent manager would always try to help, as long as they are able to cover the resident's needs. Secondly, the OPs wife is obviously in a supervisory role, hence why only one is allowed off at a time, the other staff need managing. Thirdly as someone else noted, an employe is legally obliged to allow an employee holiday - so if they let someone leave it unbooked they are effectively allowing them to force time off at the end of the year, which is unfair on others who would love that time off, but play buy the rules. While HR work for the company not the employee, I do find that most policy like this is driven by a desire to treat people fairly, to avoid any legal breaches, and to ensure they have the staff they legally need on any given day to care for the residents (or indeed provide the customers expected level of service in other industries). I can also believe that policy gets firmed up because there are always those who take the piss, and impair others right to a fair distribution of holidays. Its not that much to ask that you plan your main holiday in advance, most people do.
  19. Madness as this stage. If everyone was fit and here it would still be stupid, but where we are right now literal madness.
  20. I think you hit the nail on the head there. There should be a route to saying this is murder, and they will spend the rest of their natural life in a secure facility in cases such as this. Vistims families are never goingt o be satisifed with Manslaughter and undetermined sentence in a hospital.
  21. Nadine Dorries had a talk show? Must have started after I left. Did she actually resign as an MP yet?
  22. He is talking about Billionaires no? They live where they want. I see Bezos has moved to Miami from Seattle and his boat is too big for the Marinas.
  23. We have massively outperformed my expectations. Honestly I thought we would struggle to make the playoffs. The league is worse than I thought, but we also had about as good a transfer window as you could possibly have in terms of manager and players in and out.
  24. I understand your point. There is a difference in seriousness of the offence between being 0.37 and 2.5, and the law recognizes this in sentencing. It is not unreasonable to say we should also take this into account when judging the guy rather than jumping to the worst conclusions. That said the refusal does suggest he knew he was over the limit, and he was right.
