I think the point with commentary is that the idea you need to have played the game at a high level to be able to talk about it is patently crap, so the idea that a female footballer cannot talk about the mens game is by definition patently crap and comes from misogyny. F1 is an interesting point, I have a friend who trains racing drivers, and the physical demands are unbelievable. I am not saying that is the only reason why there has not been a female F1 driver, but it may be a factor just as much as in football at elite levels.

If you were in a nice gift shop in St Ives or similar, you would probably Pay GBP 60-80. On a market stall, half that or a bit less, in a craft fair somewhere in the middle. You probably make the same profit in each place with others taking their cut, cost of a stand in the craft fair etc. People I know with side hustles like this do well at low-cost Christmas gifts fairs and summer markets etc. i.e. you find somewhere they are raising a few quid for the school or club, or where the market is there to bring footfall into an area to get people into cafes etc. Then the stall costs you very little and you are into break even quickly.

More of a concern is escalation now they seemingly took out Hamas number 2 in Lebanon, and the US / UK etc. are getting more hawkish regarding the Houthi rebels. Iran doesn't seem to be getting the message to stay out of it very well either with its ships all over the place. This could still blow up unfortunately.

If they had started by explaining why it was causing them difficulty in their old age negotiating the exit from their drive and offering to pay to make space at another farm entrance for the bins, no doubt the farmer would have done it at the start and without cost. Looks like a very good return to me, what they call price gouging over here. The way that companies who frankly had zero interest or knowledge of PPE a week before suddenly popped up to take advantage of the situation on the basis that they knew a guy in China who could send them some crap is pretty depressing. Yes I think you are right. Some people also need to get their head round the fact that decisions are made every day on how to spend money in the NHS and care, and those have consequences on people life expectancy. Covid certainly made some of those decisions more consequential, but not really very different. As I understand it, NICE literally use formulae which take into account the amount of life saved in terms of months or years, so senior public health people are used to the idea of saving this group over that group, and inevitably a younger group wins out of over an older one simply on months of live saved.
