I think it's hard to know. I think he had zero trust in any of our other forwards and ended up feeling like he had to do it on his own. Possibly coupled with buying into his own hype. On his day with better players around him he could be a real weapon as part of a decent strikeforce. But, yeah, last season he tried too much, too often, and we incredibly frustrating as a result.

I live in the middle of Cornwall currently, absolute middle of nowhere, and at night when I let the dog out you'd think I'd be inundated with flying insects. But it's been really noticeable/surprising that we aren't. We do get them, obviously, and a much weirder selection of insects than I've ever seen in Leicester, but no many.

I think we should all agree to never mention him again so this thread doesn't rise to the top any more and we can begin the healing process, trying to forget.

He's just not his dad. That's his crime. That and not recognising it perhaps. I don't think it's intentional, I think he's trying, I just don't think he's a good businessman or football leader. The same reason king power brought in a real leader and pushed him into a ceremonial role.

Blimey muzzy, you seem to have the reaction time of Danny Ward!

Jordan Ayew - NEVER PLAYING FOR LEICESTER AGAIN!!!
CornwallFox replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
I see what you mean but I kinda feel that we bought a mid thirties ayew whose legs had long gone and who was basically good at holding up the ball and winning free kicks. We then stuck him up front on his own and expected him to keep up. Daka was bought as a young guy with a supposed exceptional goal record but who turned out to be unable to trap a bag of wet sand. -
How noisy in the one you've got? I bought a portable air con unit when we had that 40° spell but it's really, really noisy!

Has there been any movement or progress on building British homes that might act more like Mediterranean homes in summer temps? Seems that's what's going to be needed.
-
Was properly uncomfortable heading out late morning. Obviously lucky to have the sea nearby which was a lifesaver. Currently back at home waiting for temps to drop before taking the dog to the beach later on. It's a hard life here in Cornwall 😜

This is going to be such an awful season If we go manage to sell all the players we've got, I have zero faith in our recruitment to bring in players to get us back up

Worst ever player in city history.

The garden is a fair bit smaller than yours, maybe that one standalone lawn you've got, but then I'll be 3 minutes from the seaside so it seems rather less important than up in Leicester! The current owners bought the house from new and I suspect probably immediately covered it in the worst fake grass I've ever seen. So it'll be a case of pulling up the fake stuff and any membranes etc and then try to rotavate whatever is underneath and hope there's not too much builder's rubble 😬 As there's currently no plants etc hard to know what will need to come out to think about a skip bag or something. I expect to be putting down a layer of top soil maybe with some sand but not sure if I'll be able to get away with just adding it into/onto the existing surface until I see it. We've got a small dog so want to get it done super quickly so it's got somewhere to lie around a poop beyond what is basically an outdoor carpet currently!

I'm just near the end of buying and the house in getting currently has really poor looking fake grass which I plan to rip out literally on day 1 and replace with turf. Going to try to How long did it take you to do that from the start? Did you have to remove much soil and replace it could you work with what you had?

You are correct but the same thing happens on left and right. The left shouts racism too quickly. The right has gone down the American route of shouting about "lefties", "socialists", "owning the libs" etc. I don't disagree with your analysis of political discourse, I'm just balancing it with a left wing slant on agreeing the general theme. What I struggle with is that right wing arguments constantly involve refusing to engage with facts, detailed analysis or scientific testing, and prefers "common sense" arguments which are generally nonsense. That said, on the specific subject of immigration, I think the left is in a weak position. That's nothing inherently good or right about immigration. So I'm not sure why it is almost treated like a moral imperative on the left at the moment. Tbh I think it is more a reaction to how the right has been talking about it in recent years. Not everybody on the right, but more and more big personalities. And when you read under the article comments across right wing media the content is frankly shocking. There is a huge problem with outright racism. That isn't to say that's it's racist to be concerned about immigration, or to think it should be lower. imo there clearly is an issue with small boats that needs solving. We're starting to possibly see progress so let's hope that continues. When it comes to legal migration there must be a middle ground that could be found between left and right. And you're right to highlight that language causes a rift that stops us finding these solutions. Both sides need to draw breath but the only real way common ground can be found is to really think deeply about what we need as a country, have an honest discussion about the positives and negatives of immigration, to arrive at the closest to consensus we could reach. As a leftie open to having that discussion, I struggle to see anybody powerful on the right who is up for really analysing the issue for honest debate though, unfortunately. I'm not sure the same could be said about starmar and co, who I suspect would love to be able to have a conversation of this sort.

I can't help but think the private sector must be absolutely making bank here. I often think this week public sector projects. You're telling me with that sort of money and government power to legislate away problems they can't build a few train tracks? Shambolic on the government side and I'd love to see where the money went. I always think the same about the multi billion supposed cost of fixing up the palace of Westminster/parliament. I get it's quite big and there's some fiddly work but several billion to fix the wiring, stop leaks and keep the rats out? Don't be ridiculous.

As a leftie and labour voter myself, I'm fine with them cutting immigration, I just want to see them talk about it in better language that the right do, and to compliment it with some policies that actually help ordinary people. Spend some money, stop running the country like Tory-lite, stop pretending tight finances lead to a better quality of life.
