  1. I think the fact that Britain reduces resides in a very fortunate position means we don't always see what's really going on with climate change. For some reason there's no reporting of the weather elsewhere Spain matches September heat record at 45.7C as extreme heat grips country | Euronews https://share.google/9BizqIPuLRe4bpkVZ
  2. Or he's just shit and we somehow decided to pay £18m for him
  3. The UK is 16th in Europe for asylum applications (there are varying ways of looking at this metric, currently 12th "in" EU). It is 3rd in Europe for corporate tax dodging and 1st in Europe for offshore tax losses. Together they account for £40bn in lost track annually, with over £850bn in assets being held in office shore accounts. You wouldn't know this from the headlines would you? You'd think the papers would be screaming about collecting that extra tax....

  5. A new powerful early-September Heat Dome is expanding across Europe. It will bring an intense late-season heatwave with surface temperatures forecast to reach the upper 30s and locally exceed 40 °C in parts of Southern Europe and the Mediterranean. A broad warm plume surging out of North Africa is driving the pattern, with upper-air thermal anomalies climbing well above seasonal averages and setting the stage for unseasonably extreme temperatures across Spain, France, Italy, and the Balkan Peninsula.
  6. China’s installed solar power capacity reached 1.286 billion kW by the end of July, surpassing coal-fired power capacity for the first time to become the country’s largest source of installed power generation capacity. Of the total, centralized photovoltaic (PV) power plants accounted for 704 million kW, while distributed PV systems stood at 582 million kW, according to the National Energy Administration on Tuesday.
  7. Agree to disagree is fair my man. If Huth had worn the armband would it have been different? Who knows. We can but speculate.
  8. Yes I have. Don't think it makes any difference. Leaders are leaders with or without armbands.
  9. I don't think it makes a blind bit of difference
  10. Fair play, looks too have been a leap forward for the club bringing him in
  11. Nobody wants this at all. There are some of us that gave been calling for positivity and calling out the booing of a young team after positive performances. That doesn't mean we think everything is perfect.
  12. What's the score? I'm out this evening. Take it there's less reason for positivity 😅
  13. Reid actually linked play okay last game so don't mind as much if he's not up front. He's certainly making changes with players don't perform, I'll give Martin that
  14. We don't need a replacement. Just pick any kid out of the academy and they'll be more able to move the ball about at pace. Let him go.
  15. I genuinely think people are saying things like this just because it's Martin. How exactly was the team restricted on Saturday? You watch top end premier League teams struggle to break down low blocks and it looks similar to how we played. It was a good performance lacking a killer move.
  16. Looks like a tracksuit top
  17. Do you have an actual link at all?
  18. Should have left best part of a decade ago
  19. There's that famous positivity we were talking about on that other thread.
  20. Yesterday wasn't even slightly dull too watch. First two games yes. Then he dropped the players that can't play that way then we got it forward. Look, I wasn't convinced by Russell, but I'm open minded, and yesterday was a vast improvement and it's on field those things happen
  21. The system yesterday saw us move the ball forward pretty quickly though? This is what I don't get. Yesterday we didn't play passing for the sake of passing at all.
  22. Nobody is asking you to clap along to the club's death. They're simply asking people to not boo a young team when the performance has actually improved and we are actually making team changes to remove the crap. Honestly wonder how half the people on here have gainful employment with the negative, moaning, whiny attitudes on display.
  23. I was stunned by the level of negatively yesterday. First two games were dire but Martin has actually dropped players that aren't performing for what must be the first time in years at this club. Okoli being taken out and taking the risk of having Thomas there paid off. Fully expect to see skipp kept out also. Despite all the Russell-ball criticism, we actually generally got the ball forward pretty quickly yesterday and were looking for a goal, not just passing around for the sake of it. Yesterday's performance was 90% of the way there, final ball, bit of luck, slightly better forward runs and if we get a goal and some confidence flows yesterday was a really big step forward. Yet on here or was as if that step forward didn't exist. Let's just look at the league table and ignore progress over the 3 games. People need to get behind a very young team or not go.
  24. Alves on at 10 for BDCR Howell on for Burns Then let's get at them
  25. I can't really argue with the team picks and sub today. Would like to see Alves come on at 10 later
