Wout Faes signs for Leicester - Official
CornwallFox replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Imo if we can't sell him then he needs to be playing. He's currently our best CB. Non of the managers he's worked under here have complained about him. Martin has made a point of saying he's worked well in training. Just because he flaps his arms about doesn't make him a bad professional. And tbh I'm not sure how any fan that's booed their team can complain when a player thinks leaving might be a good idea. If he's here, he should play. -
As I can't respond in the other thread, re social media being a cesspit, I think it's largely a cesspit because of adults. When kids were using Facebook it was catching up with friends. Then over time adults ruined it with politics and xenophobia. When kids were using Twitter it was a big shared community with jokes, laughs and finding people with shared interests. Then adults got involved with politics, xenophobia and misogyny. When kids were using tiktok it was all dance videos and laughter. Then adults got involved with politics, xenophobia, misogyny, climate denialism and celebrating violence against those who think differently. It's the adults dragging this world into a hellscape, digitally or otherwise.

Summer 26 Transfer rumours 'X' and other Weak Links
CornwallFox replied to davieG's topic in Transfer Talk
With the lad up front and now looks like the Finnish giant at the back, these look on paper like pretty good, low risk punts. I know we're still left with senior players that are absolute gross, but we've got rid of a lot and the players we've brought in - maybe not so much Cullen so far but early days - haven't been too bad. One of our better windows, though our starting point is so poor it's not making much difference on the pitch yet until we can get skipp/okoli/Souttar out of the team. -
A few more automated sails and they've basically reproduced a galleon.

Worst transfer windows in our history
CornwallFox replied to fleckneymike's topic in Leicester City Forum
The two winter transfer windows when we were in champions League positions and just needed a proper right winger to finish the team. Not buying one to place Perez stopped our peak being inside the champions League. -
Recruitment across multiple windows has hampered us. Since Puel and then Macia left our record had been awful. In fact even before that it's just Puel has a couple of wins like Ricardo. I think we've made 9 good signings in 10 years and everything else has been horrific.

Burton Albion (h) post-match 1-2 defeat
CornwallFox replied to MC Prussian's topic in Leicester City Forum
I've been thinking for a while or looks a bit sad now. Over ten years later we're in our worst ever position. It's embarrassing harking back. He started, then seemed to self-tone it down slightly, to go down the route he went at rangers where he was castigating the team in post match interviews almost from the get-go. Doesn't ever seem to reflect on his own performance or decisions. -

Of course it is. Selfish oik. -

The senior players are terrible, Rudkin and co are terrible, the young lads doing their best didn't deserve it. Your don't care about others statement tells me everything I need to know. -
Burton Albion (h) post-match 1-2 defeat
CornwallFox replied to MC Prussian's topic in Leicester City Forum
We just need to play straightforward football. Why have we got Luke Thomas inverting into midfield? Get the full backs out wide, get them running forward and overlapping their wingers. We just needed a Neil Warnock type manager to simplify the game, take us back to basics. Instead we're fannying around with the ball with players that aren't capable of it. -
Understandable unhappiness at our senior players and board but I fear when the crowd turned out youngsters looked frit. Burton gained even more confidence from that. Fair play to the lad on the right, he's done sod all for two games but he dragged us to that goal. We really need to scrap everybody over 25
-
Shambolic defending again. Turning down bids for these centre backs is really ridiculous. On the ball we've got into a few positions this week. Bristic makes good runs but his touch is appalling. What on earth have we become in such a short space of time.

Think we have to sprinkle ourselves through the home crowd as you can only get tickets from Truro FC. Maybe we'll make up 25% of the attendance 🤣 -

It's our first league home game of the season. We've got a bunch of kids in the team. If you are booing already you really aren't a fan. -

Under 21s playing away in Truro on 8th September. Might go and watch. Any other Cornish or faux Cornish foxes going? -
What the bloody hell is a back of shirt sponsor?! When did this muck start?

I honestly cannot understand why the government hasn't simply built wind, solar and tidal generation itself, cutting out the middle man, then have a nationalised energy that sells to the people at a bit over cost price to cover building and maintenance. The cost of renewable energy production is incredibly low, why are we promising returns for companies instead of focusing on cutting costs for households. Obviously the right wing media and political class would have a fit and publish all sorts of scare stories, but I can't see how it wouldn't be hugely popular.

We're talking about Enzo's team 👍🏻 -

I don't remember the actual tactical master plan being boring under them. We might have had poor matches, but our actual style wasn't inherently really really boring -

Has anybody said they would? I feel like you're having a debate with yourself here. I'm just saying Enzo's football was boring. Nothing to do with anything else. -

I don't think it was overlooked. People on here were talking about how boring it was at the time. Look, we got great results, won the league, I'm not complaining about the outcome, just mentioning that it wasn't exactly scintillating to watch. -

We did. There were some great moments. But I also had many many moments of sitting there watching the game, a near silent crowd around me, as we did very little. We weren't a klopp style, 90 minutes of excitement team. We were 89 minutes of keep ball with 2/3/4 15 second moments of excitement in the match, most of which led to goals as our players were better than anybody else's. Sure, the goals were exciting and there were bits of excitement, but also so so so so much turgid boring football. Football in general had been incredibly boring for the last decade. A few green shoots at the world cup, and a few teams breaking away from the 11 men behind the ball, then keep the ball forever football we've been watching across the football world. -

The football was really boring at times though wasn't it? I can't wait for the return of 4-4-2 and direct football. It really can't come soon enough. -
They clearly weren't willing to pay the extra we wanted
