  1. Not being funny Slabhead but we won 9-0 in these conditions.
  2. Feels like ****ing years since we had a Mahrez style hissy fit. We are so back.
  3. Writing prose ****ing terrifies me. I'm far better with a structure like a screenplay where there's rules that you can break if you know what you're doing. The government should introduce a basic income for writers IMO.
  4. It takes longer than a year to turn around a sinking country after 14 years of destruction, especially when the Tories salted the earth before they went, and when there's global chaos caused by a fascist in the Oval Office. Not to mention the generational damage Brexit is doing. Despite all that, and despite the headlines, they're actually making decent progress.
  5. Though having said that I worry the other day that I'd somehow missed a year and England were in the World Cup Final or summat
  6. I'm so happy we're now painting roundabouts and putting are flags up everywhere. Makes me feel so much better about the unrelenting shithole the Tories and Brexit turned this country into.
  7. It’s a taste sensation Bov.
  8. (Give it at least a couple of hours)
  9. Try it. Thank me later.
  10. Salt and vinegar. Out of the freezer. Marvellous.
  11. Excellent deal. Showed great promise in his early time here but those tow injuries were just devastating. Wish him well!
  12. I am so, so sorry for your loss Deb. I cannot comprehend what you’re going through. Like Izzy said, grief counselling is a very good idea. I’ve done it myself and it helped me no end. I would hope there’s a bilingual one near you that can help.
  13. ⚽ Leicester & the “PSR lie” Leicester’s decline – Once Premier League champions (2015–16), Leicester now sit in the bottom half of the Championship and face possible points deductions for past financial breaches, even at that level. They’ve been punished repeatedly, leaving them a shadow of the club that shocked the world. PSR exposed – Samuel argues this shows the Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) aren’t about debt management, but about blocking ambition and protecting the elite. Barriers to entry – PSR function like protectionist laws: preventing outsiders from competing, keeping the Premier League’s “incumbent elite” (Liverpool, City, Arsenal, United, Chelsea, Spurs) safe from challengers. Examples – Aston Villa forced back to “the swampy middle.” Wolves had their squad stripped. Newcastle’s ambition curbed despite Saudi backing. But Leicester’s fall makes the truth clearest: ambition gets punished. Tottenham’s interest in PSR – Daniel Levy is a prominent backer. For Spurs, PSR preserves their status as a Champions League regular and keeps their valuation high (£2–3bn). Without PSR, Newcastle, Villa, Forest and others might break in, reducing Spurs to “upper mid-table” and slashing their market worth by up to £1bn. Conclusion – PSR isn’t about financial responsibility; it’s about ring-fencing the elite. Leicester’s demise, ironically, has revealed the truth. 👉 In essence: Samuel uses Leicester’s downfall as a cautionary tale—proof that PSR exists to protect the rich clubs, not the health of football. Do you want me to rewrite this into a short, punchy version (like a fan-friendly tweet thread or pub-chat summary), or keep it in this analytical style?
