  1. Awful news. Always part of our greatest chapter RIP Shakey.
  2. This has to be a sick joke https://www.thesun.ie/sport/13495438/leicester-jordan-ayew-tom-cannon-sheffield-united-stoke/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1722204053
  3. Hermansen got back from holiday and was given a chauffeur, police escort and priority access to the ground just to make sure Ward didn't have to play again
  4. The last two in that list, every time I see Chair he seems to be more impressive. Demolished Leeds at Lotus Road, they couldn't handle him. Mikey Johnstone who was on loan at WBA last season is also a good shout IMO
  5. People look at him, find out he's on 50k a week then stop looking. With clubs looking at Iversen and Stolarcyk injured, Ward will be the Mads backup until Octoberish at least ☹️
  6. Yet It was quite telling when Cooper mentioned his goal the other day that also mentioned "some not so good things" and wrong decisions on the ball. Managers don't usually mention that if it's not an issue. He knows full well you don't get away with poor decisions at the top level. If we've got players in mind for KMs positions he'll let him go.
  7. Have you seen the price of tickets in that new stand? They'll get £41m from the season ticket sales in there. Horrendous prices at poundshop Chelsea.
  8. Neither was Yunus last season TBF but you need cover and competition in every position
  9. I really don't think we need to over-analyse too much about starting positions and unusual formations, Cooper will only know a lot of these players from TV games and the odd one from previous encounters. He needs to work out his options, where he has cover and if he needs extra bodies coming in. Friendlies are zero indication of where we will be in a month or even his preferred set up. Most of us have seen enough pre-seasons now to know how this works and not read too much into it.
  10. When else does he experiment? Best to try now than when we're 2 down in a league game
  11. Unless Hermansen moves somewhere, he starts Vs Spurs but he was always going to get an extra couple of weeks off because of international duty. Ward is in against Shrews and a behind closed doors match. You don't read anything into anything at this stage of the season, especially with a tournament summer to work around.
  12. In our case we've taken so long just to decide on planning to build an extension to one stand, I can't see a day when this ownership would have the willpower or financial backing to move an entire club elsewhere. Right now a few hundred deciding not to use the club shop and facilities at a time when we'll be re-attracting tourists and casuals anyway might not even make a ripple.
  13. Yeah I know, the same way that sites like Sportwitness do. There's never any concrete story there or an actual source
  14. I knew this was rubbish when I saw the name Fossehub involved in it
  15. Which I answered in the first part. The money pi$$ed away comment was referring purely to the free transfers we've had to write off not anything spent
  16. Fine. We re-signed the ones we needed to, a couple of new faces so far but IMO we need about 4 more plus I'm still expecting to lose another name somewhere. The minus points for him are the ones who left on a free because of his previous incompetence. The money we've pi$$ed away in the past two summers is eye-watering and most of that falls on him and Whelan. It's a reminder of what happens when no-one's hand is on the wheel. He's still in a job because of that.
  17. I think I'm right in saying Forest were "linked with" "interested in" and "set to make a bid for" him last summer so Cooper obviously rates him which is always a good start. The 3 year period is a concern for someone who's never completed a season for us but like everyone says this is better than finding a new player. It's also one less place for Soumare in the team 😏
  18. Now that was batshit. Whatever your feelings on Adrien Silva, playing an injury-prone and thus* overweight Matty James ahead of him ( and occasionally Iborra) summed up Claude Puel's time here. *Getting "thus" into a conversation in 2024 deserves it's own accolade
  19. Big difference between giving that to a manager rather than a player though. Someone's just gambled on him being another Chilwell and tried to ensure we get a payday. We need to offload him to L1 like Brunt, get a nominal fee and move on.
  20. Foxes Talk in a nutshell 😆 This all depends on the length of the deal. If he takes a 2 year extension we offload him next summer for a relatively small fee. If we give him a 3 or 4 year deal like Vestergaard we're hanging on to an injury prone CDM whose best games may already be behind him.
  21. This is why so little transfer activity happens in Italy these days and why they bring through a lot of homegrown talent even in the top clubs. They'll take players on loan from elsewhere in Europe but as soon as they get a valuation for a permanent deal they back out. Similarly some of the fees discussed for players they want to sell are ridiculously high.
  22. Yeah but it's fine doing it when it's 18 year olds coming through the academy. You show faith early, tie him down to a decent contract and ensure he's not snapped up on the cheap. Occasionally, it doesn't work out and they end up seeing their careers out in the lower leagues like Mattock and Sheehan. There would be more of an issue if we gave him a 2 year deal and he left on a free like so many others last summer.
  23. You actually missed the point here. Someone said Adrien Silva and that was my reply. It's not a last minute deal, it's two months away but feel free to bookmark this reply and ridicule me on Sept 1st
  24. And? This has been an issue at the club for 3 or 4 years now. We can't shift players because of wages. Bertrand, Vesty, Praet, Soumare etc. The last two are classics of being at a European club, doing well but they won't touch the wages. He asks for 80k, they say no, discussion over. Probably had the same discussion with half a dozen clubs. Nacho's got the same agent, probably had the same issue getting a club. My point is, you can't blame him for asking. If they all say no he takes whatever we're offering at a guess, just standard football stuff
