Marc Albrighton Retires From Football
iancognito replied to urban.spaceman's topic in Leicester City Forum
Thought this was coming when he was on 5 Live a couple of weeks back saying he hadn't missed pre-season or being told what to do and where to be. A genuine modern day club legend like Kingy and Vards. Going elsewhere would have been a huge anti climax for him. Haven't felt this emotional since Frodo jumped on the same boat as Gandalf. -
Appearance stats can be badly misleading. How many of those appearances were starting XI or even as sub more than 10 mins? Ward and Iversen will be on frees in 2 years. It's already been proven that fees aren't an issue, it's the 50k a week they're on. Ward is on record saying he's staying here even if it costs his international place and Sheff Wed and Derby ran a mile at Iversen's wages too. As for Soumare, everyone can see what we see. If he was going he'd have gone last summer. Literally no-one wants him.
-
As somebody mentioned earlier in the thread, Abdul is more impressive than his stats suggest and quite a few players do better surrounded by better players rather than being stuck in the dead man leagues.
-
Christ another potential hijack right there. We're gonna have to hire Gerard Butler as personal protection on these guys.
-
Yeah I just thought it was prepping them for a bigger stage. If Seagrave had at least one big stand it would help that but doing it at the KP is more central and gives the players that stadium experience
-
Maresca alluded to the same because he was added to the homegrown list. This sort of thing was discussed on one of the TV games the other day when they were saying about the pathway into the first team is longer now and most players almost have to go via a loan elsewhere as part of their progression. Personally I think that's a steaming pile of horse poo. Academy fixtures being called PL2 was supposed to be the stage for kids to progress on to a pro level, not scrapping it out on Tuesday nights at Valley Parade or wherever.
-
With the reserves now being PL2, I just wonder why they don't showcase it at the ground, help some of the academy lads get used to bigger crowds and the whole match day feeling. They have enough retro stuff in the shop, why not go retro with the ideas too. Maybe one for the UFS guys or @Foxes_Trust to bring up at the next QnA session?

Performance was decent but I factored in the opposition 7 if you scored, 5 if you didn't. 4 for Ward, the slider bar got stuck. -
Let's not ever think the demand isn't there. FNF games in the 90s got between 9 and 16k for reserve games because of the pricing structure and we had an actual marketing team. It's short-sighted and any club not trying to bring in the next generation deserves everything it gets.
-
Silva was twice the player that Soumare is, never really got a proper run or extended chance and then his confidence took an understandable hammering when a one-legged Matt James was getting the nod in front of him from Claude. Bouba is stealing a living in comparison.
-
This is one player I don't mind losing on a free. Loan him out, get rid, let him be someone else's issue. TBF I wouldn't mind losing him down the back of the sofa.

Should have been kids for a quid and no push on mobile tickets. The club just continues to drift away from normal fans in every way.

1-2 Fulham, A Post Match Thread
iancognito replied to urban.spaceman's topic in Leicester City Forum
Fact is with a potential -10 in deductions incoming we need 45-50 pts to avoid relegation. That means 10 home wins and getting something at places like Craven Cottage. We weren't even close. -
We havent been a brilliantly run club since about 2019. The last two financial reports, the fact that the PL and EFL are queueing up to tear us a new one, that we've allowed £209m of talent to leave on a free over the last two summers, that we charged £25 for physical season cards in the face of overwhelming fan disgust, have all but suspended our future ground developments, board members apparently falling out and the team itself going from winning the FA Cup and being the brink of Champions League football to relegation in 3 years.....prove that.

Mostly 5s He needs to play most of the non-starters Vs Tranmere and get a grip of what our best XI is before Villa turn up because a decent side is going to take us apart. -
It's a pointless thread. We don't sack managers after 2 games and just because you don't like his tactics/selections/buys doesn't justify an out thread mid-August, it just makes us look entitled like some sort of mid-2000s AFTV cretin

Is that this years Ole Ole, I couldn't make out the words
-
Was starting to get Brighton away Barnes vibes about that
-
Not sure what's worse, the streams or the defending.

Lovely to see Fulham fans with clappers. I knew our unique way of backing our club would start to catch on across world football
-
I don't really see Ricky as a RB anymore. I know he was in that inverted role last season but he did so much good work next to Winks I can only assume Cooper's knowledge of him stopped in 2023 and he wasn't watching him via a dodgy firestick

Julian recently revealed Pleat was right. It is Jo-a- Kim.

Every player wants champions league. If no CL clubs want him then he needs to change his expectations/ up his game

His big issue is his lack of influence at the business end of the pitch. Still no assists and just 2 goals isn't a great return but we'll need tidy players this season who can keep hold of the ball and not give it away aimlessly.
