That's all sorted. Terms were agreed days ago, the player's had his medical. Just the "legal issue" now.
-
With 2 hours to go the club have realised a "legal issue" is stopping the transfer. "Day 30 and Jon's facing the bullet from the Seagrave house"
-
It doesn't. The club knows whether they'll overspend and doesn't proceed until they've reduced the wage bill or cashflow. Last thing they want is to go up and be docked 6 points or something.
-
If they'd signed Keifer Moore in August we'd have sold Daka. Bournemouth obviously interested in other targets now.
-
After the UFS/FT meeting with the club I had no fewer than 6 texts advertising the General Sales including the day before Swansea saying last few available (blatant lie but at least they're trying). Up til that point I'd never had a text from the club about anything. That just leaves the people out there that aren't in the database/mailing list and how they reach them. I couldn't believe there was an entire block in the North stand empty and no-one had the thought to either give tickets to schools or go Kids For A Quid to fill it. The extra sales on the concourse alone would have made it worthwhile. Leaves you with the impression that they don't give a sh!t

Not a chance. Knowing Rudders he probably didn't even put a notice period in the contracts.
-
We've had both. Look at our goals across the season, counter attacks, crosses, passing moves and screamers from outside the box. Keeping possession wears out the opposition (more goals than anyone else in the final 15mins) and is the best way to ensure they can't attack effectively or put on any pressure. Sure, it'd be great to be knocking it into the channels watching the striker sprint onto it and smashing it in the bottom corner but I'm not sure any of our strikers are capable/suitable of running channels or that we've got a midfielder that can regularly thread balls through like that.

TBF there were a lot of players not quite at it and a lot of misplaced passes. A win's a win. -

McAteer and Praet poor but Praet was clearly knackered after two games in 3 days after barely playing this season. I don't get McAteer as a player, he's not threatening enough, gets caught offside repeatedly and isn't anywhere near the level of the other wide players. I'd struggle to name a MOTM but mostly 6s. KDH had some bad touches but all the creativity came from him. -
TBF to him tonight their CBs went full on 90s "let them know you're there" with him. He had the same treatment Vs Millwall when he posted up pics of his gashed legs post-game. Got kicked in the ankle twice when Stroud's back was turned. That said his finishing is poor, he lacks a presence up top and that pace we keep hearing about is rarely utilised. Would rather go with Cannon and let him build his confidence and reputation than spend another season with Daka's "potential".
-
What do people want? The 3 or 4 times we tried a longer ball tonight it bounced off the CBs and gave them possession back. Knock it down the channels for people to try to run on to? Teams just don't play like that anymore, aside from Dyche teams and the odd throwback like Wilder or Hodgson. It's hardly Vestergaard's fault if the strikers are standing ten yards off him or the opposition stick in two banks of 5 to try to play through. I'd love Pearson back here but the truth is his last two or three teams haven't exactly been producing title winning football. They've looked as predictable as we're supposedly looking at the moment. Predictable but apparently unstoppable.

Just posted up a conversation behind me in one of the other threads, the moaning whingeing and griping is getting beyond parody. I genuinely wish this season had been a drop through the league to bloody League One again just so we can have rid of the deadwood in the stands. We cleared out the squad but got left with the spoiled, entitled ****ers in the stands who have been drunk on Premier League football for a decade. Just echoing what's been said above, Maresca should do an interview where he states the dead atmosphere is a problem. If not him then one of the players should express surprise at the empty seats or something. This team could not have done anymore this season. Points, GD through the roof, barely challenged by most teams and all you get is people moaning (wrongly) that we give points away. We've lost 1 game in 14 when we had ten men. We've dropped 4 points to the only side with fewer defeats than us via two deflected goals and despite "dropping" those points we're ten clear of them. The UFS lads should take massive credit for at least trying to keep going in the King Power Library because large sections of the silent support are an absolute embarrassment to the club.

Conversation behind me during Swansea "No he's not here again, he's let my brother have the tickets. He's only coming to the bigger games. Did you come on Satdeh?" "No course not. I'm not paying extra to watch this" "I've not even seen the goals yet. Feels like we're just waiting for the Premiership again, this ain't much of a pull these days" "I've forcing myself to watch this season, we dint wanna give the tickets away because we might not gerrum back" "Here he goes again, Ndidi not Ndidi the other one, he's so selfish never creates anything" 🤨😫🙈

Still looking for 2

I know everyone loves to see the kids getting a chance but I'd say there's almost no chance of any of the younger starters from Saturday featuring tonight as well. I've not heard anything about Doyle and whether it was just a tactical sub on Saturday but I'd guess it's between him and Justin again and then just whether he keeps Akgun in or moves Ricardo forward. FWIW Mads Ricky, Justin, Big Jan, Big Wout, Winksy, KDH, Akgun, McAteer, Stephy, Cannon

Swansea at home for the honeymoon? Or maybe even Stoke away? -
Probably not but so many clubs playing with one up top these days means anyone with 3 strikers on their books will struggle to give them all game time. In any case it looks like an extended stay at the AFCON means Nacho is here til the summer.
-
All of those players you mention - except Viera - were homegrown players from their club's academy. In any normal transfer window, Spurs don't buy Skipp, Liverpool don't buy Jones and United don't buy McTominay. They're in the side through being homegrown and making natural progression. Look at the uproar when Liverpool were mentioned with KDH last summer, their fans were horrified because he's not a player that size of club spends that sort of money on.
-
Big chunks of those were in the padded corporate areas other than that it was mainly individual seats dotted round the ground. Twitter and socials in general are full of people who were at their first game or who took their kids for the first time which is what it's all about. There's also bound to be empty seats given how late the gen sale got sorted out and so many people budgeting these days. Bloke taking two kids is still £50+ so it's a bit judgy to decide it's a failure when you've no real idea of why people would or wouldn't be there. Credit to the section too, loudest it's been this season.

If anyone's got two spare adult tickets for this DM me please

Not in the near future. They're still in Europe, still high in the league, got something like £180m for Caicedo, McAllister and the keeper they flogged to Chelsea and have barely spent anything assembling the rest of their team. That Barco guy they signed was only £12m. Peanuts. Tony Bloom and Paul Barber are light years ahead of Top and Rudkin. These guys somehow got £60m for Marc Cucurella and then bought Estupinian for what? 10m ?They're regarded as the best run club in the PL and probably one of the models for most European clubs. They don't hand out ridiculous contracts to mediocre players or allow assets to leave on a free. They're pretty much what we used to be up to about 2020. As much as everyone loves KDH, thinks he's part of our future and all the rest of it, he's nowhere near a top 4 or top 6 team. I don't think he gets in any of those midfields. It'd be another Drinkwater situation. However much anyone turns their nose up at Brentford or Brighton, (see also Wolves or Fulham) those teams are the chasing pack, where we used to see ourselves for a while, it's not so much about the size, it's where those teams are at with their development and Brighton are very much on the up.
-
This wouldn't be a total surprise, he's looked miserable all month especially coming off the pitch at the end of games. We'd said to ourselves a couple of times he'd have clubs tapping him up.
-
The Villa link might be on if they move Duran on ( as is the rumour)
-
Mainly because no-one was capable of picking up his movement or runs
