  1. If you can, try and find someone that you can a rock for. It would be a fitting tribute, a passing of the mantle and, in general, helping others makes you feel good too. As High Peak says, doesn't have to be anything big or grand (you don't need to run the London marathon and raise £100,000 for charity), just a little bit at a time. A little love goes a long way and there's more joy in giving than there is in receiving. I avoided this thread for a long time cos I thought it would make me feel more depressed but I've found two things, actually three. 1). Everyone has their own problems and you're not the only one going through a dark time. 2). Trying to post up building and positive comments to help others makes you feel good! 3). There's lots of lovely fellow Leicester fans willing to give you a hearing ear. Hope 2024 turns around for you. People put a lot of emphasis on this "new year", but at the end of the day (sic) each day is it's own new day. Things like new year are just labels. I really like this from the Sermon on the Mount (slightly paraphrased, though of course there's various translations), "Don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have it's own problems." Which is to say, sort out what you know (what's happening now) but don't worry what might happen (tomorrow) cos you can't possibly know what it may be. Could be something fantastic, who knows? In a few more months Leicester City will probably become the outright holders of Most 2nd Tier Champion Titles, which we currently jointly hold with Man City (how did they ever surpass us?) Take care and enjoy the football and remember... at least you don't work for Royal Mail!
  2. You say not lose momentum in the league, but a loss is loss and knocks confidence, especially if it's against a team that general consensus says you should win. Success breeds success. Obviously it would be ridiculous to suggest we could win the FA cup (especially and cruise to a record Championship title ), but I'd rather keep in the competition until at least a Premier League team beats us.
  3. Very, very good advice there at the end. Glad you're battling through!
  4. I think that's just because people assume that money is everything. I'd guess the point that you pay your first credit card bill after Christmas is the time of year when most people have the least money.
  5. I've often said that Bethesda should do a European one. Paris would be great (imagine what you could do with the Eiffel Tower!) Or Rome with the Colosseum and the Vatican (a re-emergence of the Holy Roman Empire?) You could even possibly do Berlin and give it a tongue in cheek Nazi twist... I'm sure that would upset plenty.
  6. The number of times I've been in holiday self-catering accommodation and I have to alter the display settings as everyone seems to have a radioactive glow to their face. Weirdly, every tablet or phone I've had has very basic display settings and other than brilliance on a dark or light day, never had to adjust the settings, so why do TVs let people muck about with settings? Having said that, the default settings are often poor anyway. Skin tone is my reference when adjusting the picture. Get that right and everything else follows.
  7. The Cavern?
  8. I thought they were quite good considering the performance their team put on for them. Can you imagine our fans if we played like that?
  9. Scores a brace on his full debut and is only rated 7.5. Come on! We're so mean with our ratings.
  10. All he did was score goals. Which is just what we need! Shame he couldn't get a full debut hat trick.
  11. Similar. I'm playing Stray.
  12. Same here. So long as they don't put speed cameras up I'm fine with it. I do find myself occasionally doing 25-30, but I rein it in when I do and I try to stick to the limits. I think these limits are put in with the thought that if it's 20, people might actually do 30, instead of maybe 40. Having said that, people definitely drive past at 40+ occasionally.
  13. Such a great player. Definitely my favourite player of the last few seasons.
  14. I can't remember any cards being dished out at all.
  15. I just knew that phrase would be of Danish origin!
  16. As Baz Luhrman said, "Do not read beauty magazines; they will only make you feel ugly."
  17. Happiness is very much about being content with what you have, so long as you have enough. Western culture very much conditions people to always want more, regardless of how much they have.
  18. Nostalgia of the year award, Bert.
  19. Nah, they'll win the Championship soon enough. On a serious note, it's mindboggling that they've lost almost half their games, but are still in a European qualifying position.
  20. I guess it's easier to pick people you not concerned about
  21. That reads more like a wishlist.
