He was alright today, I still think there's an awkwardness to him but his weaknesses oddly feel less exposed at centre-half than full-back. He's horrible at one-on-one defending, isn't athletic enough to effectively cover the ground a modern day full-back needs to and can't be trusted with the ball in tight spaces. He's got more of the pitch to use at centre-half and it seems to make him less panicked, the touchline isn't making him shit himself like it normally does.

I'm not expecting to have nailed a starting XI, I am expecting him to bring players off earlier than he is when they're very clearly having bad days at the office. I think Watson will end up being a handy player for us this season but him getting 80 today is criminal and as has been mentioned was a byproduct of Martin's crap management when it came to sub windows.

I do think Spurs will ultimately "be fine" but it was mad how many in the media were tipping them were a top 4/5 tilt this season. They're still very questionable in some areas and still have that loser stench hanging over them, like us – hard to shake once the arseholes have been embedded for so long

Monaco were better than us last year, doesn't make Wout Faes good. Other sides are capable of making terrible signings and errors of judgement too. Your logic would only work if Derby/Sheff United had a 100% success rate with transfers, which they clearly don't.

Started a bloke up front who can't score, made subs too late, kept on players who were clearly not at it, didn't win (again).

Can tell he's gradually getting a bit sharper and used to the pace of play over here, some nice touches and runs. As has been said though, proof is in the pudding when it comes to him actually having chances which seem few and far between given how we choose to play. I think he'll be fine and good for ~10 goals but I do worry about the goalscoring burden being placed on him simply because our other striking options seem to be 5'4" attacking midfielders who can't finish. Been said by countless people on here but we clearly need an alternative out and out striker.

Always in the right place at the right time and seemed to win the ball back loads, I know he had a fairly positive loan last year but he really does seem to have emerged with very little fanfare beforehand

Didn't do anything noticeably daft which was refreshing for a left back in a Leicester shirt. Not quite as quick as I was expecting given what had been written up about him when he signed, but he looked really steady
