I don't actually think he's particularly great in possession either tbh. He's fine with the ball, competent, but nothing above or beyond what I'd expect from a £15m+ centre half in 2024. If the best people can say about a defender is "he'd look good in a side where he doesn't have to defend" it's probably flagging up that he's a bit shit.

Our fan base is a lot of things but I don't think they deserve talking down like this tbh. Maresca lost (/drew) the odd game here and there throughout the season and was still very well backed. Form towards the end of the season though was borderline inexcusable given the squad we had, however you want to carve it up, and people were understandably frustrated as we floundered. If Cooper had just won 7 games and we'd lost last night I think people would get over it relatively quickly, despite the opposition. Let's not be daft. The issue is, he hasn't just won 7 in a row. None of them were dangerous? First half alone Wilf cleared a header off the line, from the resulting passage of players Hermansen had to make a smart save. Solanke fluffed an open header from 5 yards out. Second half we gave the bloke time to brew up and light a fag, luckily he belted it straight at Hermansen. These are off the top of my head but let's not make out Spurs shouldn't have won that match comfortably
