Oh mate, enjoy that — one I wanted to go to, love Bloc Party but no shame in admitting I'd be there mainly for Friendly Fires.

Eni Aluko would make a disastrous commentator. Itv truly are the pits (Coronation St and Ally McCoist aside). -
Switzerland vs Italy - Saturday 29th June

Italy have now become the first team in the history of the EUROs to have 10 outfield players on the pitch who are all 5'8" -
In International football as a thing they are one of the better sides with one of the best talent pools, however you want to carve it up. Your argument about Danny Ward being an international, therefore winning caps for any nation (even good ones) being a moot point is just a bit daft!

It's not what it was in the 90s/early 00s but the Italian league is absolutely not "poor."

I like Justin but Kristiansen is 5 years his junior and, in my opinion, just as competent at defending (if not, more so). He came in as a relatively inexperienced full back who started brilliantly and put his head above the parapet a lot more than many others at club could be bothered to during our slide towards the Championship, at a time when it sounded like a few of our players made him feel as unwelcome as possible. He threw in some shockers (I was at Elland Road) but also some blinders – I find it genuinely astonishing people are writing off a 21 year old based on what they saw of him in Brendan Rodgers and Dean Smith's 22/23 side. Especially given he's just gone off and had a great season in a very decent league, he's not coming back the same player, and he's not coming back into the same environment.

Switzerland vs Italy - Saturday 29th June
Miquel The Work Geordie replied to StanSP's topic in General Football and Sport
Yeah I think the Swiss will beat these. Put your house on a comfortable Italy win. -
This was good, didn't really answer anything that wasn't already known but always a good laugh: ------------------------ Have not heard good things about the new series of The Bear but I don't know if it's now just become a victim of its own success, expectation absolutely Trudy Roofe.

Fair enough, so your argument is built on discounting his time at clubs he's been demonstrably good at. Fair enough!
-
He's just had a really positive season for a side who qualified for the Champions League?
-
They are I'm afraid!

Who do you want for next season in the PL
Miquel The Work Geordie replied to Fightforever's topic in Transfer Talk
Has to be Jakub Moder for me -
-
If the "Brighton fan in peace" doesn't sign off with "All the best and good luck for the season, apart from in two games of course! 😉 SeagullBrian" Then serious protocols need to be put in place about how we vet fans in peace
-
Welcome Jakub, I for one will back you in the 67 appearances and 1 goal (Burton away in the League cup 25/26) you give to us in the 5 seasons you're here, with a lovely 15 matches on loan at Hellas Verona n all, before you leave on a free

Yeah but the crux of his point is that Belgium are one of the better international sides? Wales aren't?

Moder by name mouldy by nature 🤠

Walked past this on Saturday during a lovely few in town and it looked dead quiet. Only went in the once not long after it opened so don't know if it changed over time; but the interior just categorically didn't match the vibe they were chasing? Felt like I was going out for prosecco with my besties I don't think that building is a lost cause as a food / drink opportunity given the footfall but it's not had the best few years being a bloody gimmick bar pre-Sommar n all
-
I don't know if it'll be around where you are brother as I'm not too familiar with Liverpool but folk I know who have been to (the) Vines have said she's a stunner. Not sure if the beer line up will be too exotic but could be worth a look for the actual building!

Top doing his level best to outshine Mandaric but without any of that sweet sweet charm
-
His name is gonna look stunning in the Skybet EFL Championship font

The Running Thread (formerly How fast can you run a 5k?)
Miquel The Work Geordie replied to Sly's topic in General Chat
I just can't be bothered when the weather's like this man. Got my 5k to sub 18m living in Leeds pre-Christmas and managed a ~1hr35 half back in Leics in April when I got bored of doing quicker, shorter jaunts and wanted something longer - but this weather knocks the motivation right out of me and it's subsequently done my fitness. Last time I went for a run was the start of June and I couldn't be bothered so this is a no go. Give me numb hands, wind and rain in my chops and sodden feet any day. -
No, we've just pitifully got by with X amount of assaults / attacks in and around the Haymarket bus station since that was rebuilt, shameful from us really.

What a weirdly sneering thing to say
