Ashley would tighten the purse strings but wouldn't show an ounce of ambition and never showed any ability to get the off the pitch set up right at Newcastle bar that brief period under Pardew. He hired managers there following a similar criteria to King Power with us (domestic based or domestic experience). He would be terrible. Newcastle were relegated twice on his watch and he hung around for over a decade squeezing the life out of that club. Just because there are worse options out there it doesn't make him an appealing prospect. There's no reason we can't get a savvy businessperson who wants to balance the books who could also be a bit forward thinking.

Had a few stunners in London yesterday myself - did The Three Lords near Liverpool St which was surprisingly good, then headed out to Wapping. Town of Ramsgate and Prospect of Whitby as busy as expected, interesting pubs and worth a visit but wouldn't rush back to either — Turner's Old Star though was absolutely fantastic, really brilliant, 10/10. Then had a couple in the new Craft Beer Co place in Limehouse called the Clement Atlee, great selection.
