I only put it on because it started to rain just as we were getting the clubs out of the car. So I still had it on. I don't usually wear one as a rule. We had to nip into the clubhouse to get the wifi password as none of us could get a phone signal until we were out on the course. No problems with being told to take the cap off either, I know that's a rule at some places. I found it a very friendly club though to be fair. I chatted to two of the older lady members who were teeing off after us, and they gave us some advice about the first hole. Plus we let the ladies singles final play through on the back 9 (thanks to the two behind us warning us they were coming up), and we sat talking with the referee and winner of that match outside the clubhouse too (there was a big society out there doing presentations so no free tables), and they were both very friendly as well. I'd definitely play there again happily.

Very nice course. I think I liked the back 9 best personally. It's in very good nick other than one or two tee boxes. Fairways have recovered to be quite green now. Greens ran very nice. I had a good front 9 of 44 and should have broken 90, but messed up the back 9 and ended up with 92. Very enjoyable course though and I like the layout. I got told off for wearing my cap in the clubhouse pre-round though

Well there was of course the high court case where Joyce (and Rourke initially) tried to claim equal credit and royalties for the entire back catalogue. The split was previously 40:40:10:10 percentage wise. Joyce won and got £1m back payments and 25% of all future earnings. Rourke settled at the beginning of the case for the paltry sum of £83k and 10% (the percentage which he already got any way). They should have got 25% initially IMO as they each wrote their parts for the songs. Rourke's contribution in particular (musically) was just as much as Morrissey's IMO. His bass lines were almost like counter vocal melodies at times. It's a shame he ended up the one getting less than everyone else due to his early settlement. The More You Ignore Me was a Morrissey song which had lyrics about that case in particular and his feelings towards Joyce. "I bear more grudges, than lonely high court judges".

Have any of you put fairway woods into your bag instead of long irons or hybrids? I'm looking at a 7W and maybe even a 9W to replace my 3H and maybe even my 6i which I struggle to get height from unless it's off the tee.

I'm playing Lingdale this Sunday. I assume at least one or two of you will have played it before? The lads I'm going with have and said it's decent but it's my first visit. Shame it's probably gonna be a bit rainy this weekend.
