  1. Muzzy Izzet reference? 1864 only 20-years before 1884? Hafiz a reference to the laughably over fizzy shit larger served at the King Power? It’s ON!
  2. Think there’s a very fine line between this reality and an alternate reality where the same topic would have been brought up, but instead because people were angry KP didn’t spend enough money to try and keep up with the European runs. There was always going to be a crash. The harshness of it could have been avoided by many mistakes people have gone over and over in this and other threads. But even before FFP/PSR etc, with much smaller comparative income, the results of any mistakes are always going to be amplified in comparison to those we were competing against regularly a few years. (Take the Chelsea/Man U owners as an example). I guess while not enamoured with KP at the moment, I’m more just fed up with modern football. There’s not many I think, oh I wish we had their owners. You can point to the likes of Aston Villa and Brighton who it’s good for at the moment, but what happens to them when they have a bad season and miss out on European spots?
  3. ‘Erectile distinction?’ You have very different targeted ads than me. Meanwhile, here’s the antidote for erectile disfunction.
  4. The Guardian’s preview of our season. Wasn’t prepared for the amount of positivity in this. (They have us finishing 19th.) https://www.theguardian.com/football/article/2024/aug/12/premier-league-2024-25-preview-no-11-leicester-city
  5. You really think whoever comes in is going to miraculously magic up a fit goal scorer, a replacement for KDH and a defence that didn’t get relegated last time we were in the Prem? Oh, and if you do find someone, can they sort out PSR? Cheers.
  6. To be fair, they couldn’t be lower.
  7. Ah **** off. Cooper is not the problem. Can’t believe anyone has not clocked that.
  8. I mean, this is absolute nonsense. We got 97 points. The highest points any team has got and not been promoted in any EFL League is 90. If you get 97 points you go up no matter what others do.
  9. That and him being a left armer.
  10. Futsal should be in the Olympics rather than football.
  11. I’ve only seen the highlights, but looks like every wicket has been leading edges from an across the line slog going up in the air except the last one where he chased a very wide one.
  12. Going to rue no-one going on to get the big score like Sibley did.
  13. Job done. Not been watching much. There a reason why Wright only bowled five overs? Did he pick up an injury?
  14. The Guardian Football Weekly podcast on football finances last week was really interesting on this and various other points. Basically pointed out Premier League clubs don’t want season ticket holders any more because they’re in the place of day trippers who’d pay at least £150 a game plus £100s in the club shop during their once in a lifetime trip.
  15. I like your optimism, but think Ipswich and Southampton have done some good business on top of the fact most of them know their roles and system very well, whereas we’ve lost our engine room and manager. It will take a while for some getting use to our new set up and their roles. The back line is basically going to be the same one that got us relegated last time around so not sure why you’re confident it’s ’mid-table’ level. Goes without saying the keeper’s better, but he was also brought in to play a specific system for a manager who has departed. Our DMs should be mid-table yes. Hopefully Wilf’s Prem form last time out was a blip and he gets back to his best. I’m worried Cooper’s going to try and get him to take on at least some of the KDH role though in a way he’s not suited to. At the moment we’re relying on a nearly 38-year-old striker or hope Daka comes good. Otherwise all the pressure to break teams down is on the exciting and talented, but also understandably inconsistent, young wide players, neither of whom have played in the Prem before. Hope I’m wrong,‘but there seems to be a lot that needs to come together. If we start well and get on a roll that will go along way to keeping us up come May. If not, well we know what we’ve been like when we’ve got stuck in a rut. Evan Maresca seemingly struggled to stop that, but hopefully Cooper can.
  16. Fffffiiiiigggghhhhttt. Referee too scared to go down the tunnel.
  17. How desperate were they to rule that out? The referee obviously didn’t think it was a foul but felt obliged to give it.
  18. The overseas in the cup aren’t that different in calibre from those in the 100 who are getting six figure sums for a fortnight’s work.
  19. Hope we come out for the first game of the season with a ball under each arm. RIP Shakey.
  20. Megan Havers, a 16-year-old who goes school in Markfield, got through to the next round of the archery today.
  21. To be fair, I doubt the club have told a journalist who covers Crystal Palace who our ‘top target’ is. Even we’re not that inept…surely…..
  22. Not seen any of it today. Was bad enough first two days.
  23. Gave the opposition a whipping.
  24. Given I spent £20 on a ticket in advance today knowing I couldn’t make it until the ‘second innings’ £8 streaming doesn’t seem so bad.
  25. Yes. Sunday this year though. (September 22).
