It will be too late then. he needs to have been busy since August. His role is surely to identify targets others do the legal contract work etc. We need 4 players in in the first week of January but we all know we won't and we'll be dithering around until the final week and end up with one signing on loan. Don't be held to ransom. Give firm deadlines for decisions to sign and if they don't make it then move on quickly. We don't have time to waste.

Whelan is in the post because she has a long connection with King Power. Until recently I'd say she's done a pretty decent job and was very well respected outside the club. She was the person who eventually secured 80 million out of United for Harry. Now I think her course here is run. New and fresh ideas in management are required. Whether that happens or not remains to be seen. Rudkin is a different situation and should have gone long before. In fact I'd have sacked him after that ridiculous situation with Silva where we missed the transfer deadline by 14 seconds or whatever it was. Trouble is just removing him doesn't remove the issues we now have of a poor squad and what might turn out to be an incompetent manager. The loss of Vichai has turned out to be the club's greatest loss of all.

Well I'm only saying what I was told. I guess different people have different opinions.

In some ways he's an easy target but it is because he's the company name behind all matters football. I'm not ITK but a couple of years back I was with someone from our company, I hope you don't mind me not naming him, at a completely unrelated event to sport. This person's agent turned out to be a top football agent who had just sold a player to a Premier League team for a lot of money. He told me that Rudkin was actually well respected among football agents and he also indicated that Rudkin was very heavily involved in player recruitment and that agents had to go through him to sell players to Leicester. Whilst ticket prices and food offerings aggravate supporters what really matters is, is their team winning? So whilst he might not get praise when things are good he, for sure, gets criticism when things go wrong and, from the little I know, with some justification.

So easy to say so much harder to achieve. I'm not defending KP but it really isn't as easy as some on here think it is. Top players want to play for top clubs. Kante was impossible to replace. A unique player. I can't recall anyone quite like him in over 60 years of watching football. Even if we had done as you suggest we would not have been able to keep the winning squad together. Financially we would however, have been stronger, but the insane amount of money spent by top clubs to ensure a side like us is unlikely to win the premier League again would have meant we still wouldn't be able to compete easily.

Spot on. He's just not quite good enough. Ok for a squad player but not a starter at this level.
-
I think that is pretty obvious from your posts TBH.
-
I don't doubt that that is true. However, if he does not have overall responsibility for football matters within the club what is the point of him or indeed of the position. Senior management in any business is less hands on than we would think but they still need to be accountable.
-
Ideally shouldn't ever play for us again. Once the fans turn on a player whilst actually on the pitch there's no way back really. I don't like fans booing their own players it doesn't do any good in the long run and affects the team as a whole.
-
He's Director of Football. He has overall responsibility for the football side of the club. The quality of the squad is ultimately his remit. He should have been sacked when we were relegated as that was a failure that was on his desk so to speak. I've no idea in regards to his likeability or not and frankly don't see that as relevant. He's either good at his job or not and right now I'd say the coin doesn't come down in his favour. Whelan has other questions to answer but she's not as directly responsible for the playing side.

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

Pretty much how I see it sadly. Any manager appointment is a gamble but this feels like a huge one. I don't understand why there is no team with him for starters. We need a defence coach asap. It all starts from there if we can't keep the goals out we are going down and going down quickly. -
Completely agree. For me the defence is absolutely the key area. We need to stop conceding so many goals at least then we have the chance to get a draw now and then. We also need to team to show some fight quite frankly. Too many abject half hearted performances today. We can carry 1 or 2 passengers but right now we're carrying 7 or 8. We're not down yet but it looks pretty bleak.
-
Definitely not as he won't be here when we are relegated.
-
So would a one-legged camel though.
-
Absolutely zero chance.
-
Just embarrassing really. The recruitment has just been terrible. Good players sold and utter dross brought in. We need to sort out the defence in January or we have zero chance of staying up. new right back is priority number one for me.
-
Pretty much how the supporters feel too!
-
Just a reflection on how poor our squad is in reality. A few injuries to our key better players just exposes the dross that makes up half our squad. We need 4 players to improve the starting XI in January or we have no chance of staying up.
-
You will definitely score more than1.

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

I know you are a passionate fan and poster but we really don't need relegation. Relegation is likely to set the club back a decade or more this time as we will struggle to get back up and probably face a hefty points deduction. Could actually take a long long time to get back to the top league again. The board new new faces without doubt and maybe new ownership but very much a case of be careful what you wish for there. As for Rvn, it is far too early to judge. -
Another simply not good enough I'm afraid.
-
It isn't an unreasonable comparison but he's not anywhere near as good as Savage was. He's simply not up to the standard we need now or in the future even if we are relegated.
-
Completely agree. I suspect we will need around another 21-22 points to stay up so around 6 or 7 wins plus some draws. I think this is must win in reality as I can't see us winning many more than 6 or 7 and I think this needs to be one of them. The Newcastle game was an embarrassment though and will have knocked confidence a lot. What it must have shown Ruud is how thin and poor our squad is. Simply have to get 3 points here as we will lose the following three by big margins.
-
Pretty much a need to win game but can't see it. Until the defence is sorted out we're going to get very few points. It may be boring but we need to start defending properly before we try to play exciting expansive football which we probably aren't capable of in any case. Somehow need to not be cut adrift come January when we will need at least 4 players if we are to have a chance of surviving.
-
Shocked really but it was clear it wasn't really working nor likely to either. Absolutely key the next appointment is right. Will they go for proven experience or gamble on someone a bit more dynamic but relatively unproven. Not an easy decision. Whoever it is must quickly get the player's respect and sort out the defence. At least make us hard to beat. Whoever they appoint will need some money to reinforce the squad in January.
