I don't think he has shown enough really to be appointed on a full time basis. We need a complete rebuild and a complete change in ethos through the whole club and I don't see him as the person to do it. We're basically back at the stage where Brian Little came in all those years ago.

Simply have to win this one. Nothing else will do now.

LCFC 2-2 Preston, post-match thread

Sort of sums up the season. mainly poor, briefly decent, mentally weak. -
Just a complete waste of a signing. If we could have sent him back in January we should have done so. Yet another failure by our recruitment team to add to the great many there have been in the last few seasons.
-
That's interesting and not what I would have expected. I wonder if that holds if we are relegated. Hard to think his agent would agree to reduction in salary under any circumstances and he would have been badly advised/foolish or both to agree to such terms. Of course we may not be able to afford to action the option in any case.
-
An option to buy works both ways. He doesn't have to accept our offer.
-
But don't worry the finance director has been promoted, the failed DOF has been promoted and the chief scout who recommended all the dross we've signed and who can't seem to see further than the Solent is still in place.

A figure that is far too high and just shows the greed of the modern pro and their agents. A figure nearer 50% would be a better start.

Absolutely right but it will never happen. Really player wages are far far too high. With the amount of money in the premier league no club should be making any kind of loss on the day to day running of the club. I get you need to invest in physical structures etc but player wages need to come down in all leagues. Our losses are terrible but if you are in the 4th tier of football and losing 2 or 3 million a year it just isn't sustainable. You can cut costs across the non playing staff and other non staff costs but the player wage bill is the main expenditure. No player should be allowed to earn over 50k a week as a basic wage in the top flight and far less as you go down the leagues. This needs a wage cap but it will never happen and we will just continue on the path football is on to no competition, a few wealthy clubs doing ok and the rest close to folding.

Great well thought out and balanced post.

Yet another utter waste of space. I'm sorry he's been injured but one more example of how our recruitment team consistently sign poor players. Should have gone back in January of that was a possibility.
-
The worst consequences of relegation will, of course, be the redundancies that will be required among the non-playing staff throughout the club. People who can ill afford to lose their jobs in comparison to the overpaid wasters we have who call themselves professional footballers. Add to that the loss of match day income for surrounding businesses which will inevitable come from the lower attendance levels. And to add to our financial woes the number of sponsors and amount they pay will fall substantially too.
-
Well I'm glad he's doing ok. Hopefully they will buy him and we get some much needed money and a big wage earner off our books. Unfortunately he just didn't work out at Leicester. There seems to be an arrogance and attitude about him which annoyed our fan base and it was better to get him out of the club. The fact that all the other defenders are utterly useless doesn't mean that he would have been any better for us. The evidence over a good period would suggest not.

Do we actually even totally own the stadium? Taken from another thread. Anyone know how much if anything we owe KP for the stadium? For those who want to know here is the relevant bit of note 8. Taken from the club's website and obviously not the most recent figures etc. The stadium is the subject of a hire purchase contract with K Power Holdings Company Limited, a related company. The repayment terms of the contract were contingent on the turnover associated with the League the Club plays in during the duration of the contract during the year and the payment profile of the contract has been calculated based on the league status of the Club at the year end. All amounts owing under this agreement are repayable on 30 June 2026. Amounts payable under finance leases and hire purchase contracts are set out in note 16.

Useless basically.

Reminds me a little bit of a poor version of Matt Heath.

Relegation looks quite probable after this disgraceful showing. If we go down we won't be coming back for many years in my opinion. Finances screwed, players useless no manager and still the same useless idiots running the club and recruiting players. Quite likely we could drop down another division too.

Another waste of space it seems. Not only should Rudkin go but so should Glover.

I'm afraid the players have largely brought any toxic atmosphere upon themselves. I've not watched as many games this season as usual but one thing has been apparent each time I have and that is a sheer lack of effort by a large percentage of the players. That has improved a bit in the last couple of matches but putting in 100% effort every minute of every game should be a given. But we've not seen that this season have we? I've been a supporter for many decades now and I don't think I've ever seen such a bunch of disinterested players pulling on our shirt. Back in the days when players got the bus to matches and were paid a pittance in comparison to what they receive today criticism was often held back by supporters. However, today the wages they receive are obscene, not their fault, and spectators have a need to vent their feelings I'm afraid and this season it is perfectly justified. If players are seen to be putting the effort in, even if they are not very good, fans will back them. Did you see the Norwich at home performance? The difference between the sheer effort of both sets of players was like night and day. 93rd minute three Norwich defenders bust a gut to track back and prevent a cross. Just compare that to our defending for their 2nd goal. Not a surprise really to hear boos when you see things like that.

That would at least make him run.
-
Shocking. This team will be relegated unless there is a miracle improvement. There's no spirit, no quality, nothing at all to feel positive about.
-
Utterly useless all over the pitch.
-
Our defence has been a bomb scare all match. If they had crossed the ball better we would probably be 2 down by now. Players just allowed to run with the ball with no challenges etc etc. Games like this result often in a 1-0 loss when a side that can't defend tries to for most of the match and offers nothing at all attack wise.
-
Seriously what is the point of Reid. Offers nothing in attack and nothing in defence. Too many players at a 4 or 5 out of 10 level. Fatawu needs to work harder. Skipp keeps giving the ball away. Our pace of play is slightly above glacial but not by much. Need a big improvement in the second half to get anything out of this match. Second best pretty much all over the pitch.

Each to their own.... Leicester City belongs to all of us

It isn't totally about money is it really? Currently our owners are completely incompetent in the running of the club resulting in a 6 point deduction for financial mismanagement. What we really need is an owner with the guts to sack incompetent people and to reconnect with the core supporters of the club and to at the very least employ people who are competent at their job or perhaps even employ them in the first place. Not having someone as both Chairman and acting CEO would be a start.
