"Bunch of kids" - Last time we were in League One, we lost 4 games all season with a regular team that included Hobbs, Morrison, Gilbert, Mattock, King and Gradel. We will win the league and nobody can tell me why we won't.

People always use the "bullying" aspect now we've been relegated. I saw people on Reddit talking as if League One was some sort of South American lower league. Been here before and lost 4 games all season and, yeah, things are different but that team then was similar to now in terms of a mixture of youth and experience.

Can't people be positive, it's first game of the season ffs. There's been so much negativity, rightly justified, but we've a new manager now and some new players. And we're in a new league (sadly). I'll be going Saturday positively. Can't be arsed constantly reading "oh we're gonna lose" in this thread. If there was anything for it to be based on then fair enough but pre-season is so difficult to read into.

Barnsley is always a great away day. But I can't see us being charged less than £20. Really confusing when threads are started but just prices of another team.

I think Cov will stay up. Be interesting to see how Sunderland and Brentford get on after their seasons, I can see at least one of those struggling.

100% nobody from last two seasons should be clapped.

Why is it a waste of time? It’s a cup game. Why wouldn’t you want to get as far as possible. Some of our greatest games have been against higher opposition (Charlton, Norwich, Spurs)..

Is it midweek?

As always I want us to try and get as far as possible in the competition so I'll go with Walsall at home. I think they're the only League 2 team remaining in the Southern section.

Yeah it's only a stake but that may grow in the future? I knew it wouldn't be long until he got involved somehow.

Stockport did spend £2m last summer, including £1m on a defender who only played a handful of games for Norwich. It's probably the more backed clubs but I'm pretty sure Stockport, Blackpool, Peterborough and Huddersfield all spent at least £1m last summer (and that's not taking into account the relegated teams as Luton spent a fair bit).

Still can't believe I'm going to Meadow Lane for a league fixture. Going to be weird/awful passing City Ground knowing they are two leagues above us. Anyway, solid win. Off to a flying start. First of many. Win the league. Up the Foxes. Found my League One shirts at the weekend so might have it on. Inspiration from Topps Tiles.

His name is Leonardo..

Sorry but Man Utd would be a head turner for any player throughout history. Them and Liverpool will always be a great pull, as they always have been, nothing to do with media obsession.

Was he any good at Swindon? They collapsed last season. Interesting he's joined a league rival, a side going for promotion again, but it's not the first time this has happened.

Cup games are always though, never mind first and second round games. I lose count of the amount of early season cup games we’ve been poor in but actually had a good season otherwise. I still think we’ll have a good season but a new manager, with brand new ideas, isn’t going to change this team in a month or however long Martin has been here. This is a team that’s suffered two consecutive relegations.

Big shame that. I wanted to see how he was in League One.

Rubber Soul is one of my favourite albums ever. Mental to think it hasn't even got a single on (I think a lot of other bands would have just put Day Tripper and/or We Can Work It Out on it) but the album is so great all the way through. I played Rubber Soul and Revolver yesterday. Brilliant back to back, and then consider Sgt Peppers was after Revolver so a run of three genuinely great albums. Regardless of that though, there's no way I'll be paying the sort of money they want again. Shame.

I like a lot of his work but the more I see or hear him now he seems to have actually turned into David Brent.

Sorry but I still think we'd have gone down if it wasn't for Huth. He was more influential than Cambiasso. We probably spent 90% of the season bottom of the league while Cambiasso was here. Huth joined at the start of February and we only lost a further 5 games from that date.

Consider the players (and wages) we've got rid of too. I think it's been fine so far. Only thing I would have really liked is someone guaranteed 15+ goals (last time we had Fryatt for that) but as long as all positions chip in I think we'll be fine. I am optimistic going into this season.

I remember the planes going over. But all I remember of the game is Oakley hitting one over (probably over our end) in the last few minutes of the game.

I was on about Martin being here. I didn't mention the previous setup with Congerton, hence I compared Martin and Pearson.

Looking forward to this, another easy one for me. I can remember going in League One but then thought I'd go again in the Cup, the other year, as I wasn't sure when we'd next play them but now it's a league fixture again
