  1. That tables interesting in that we are above Spain. I think a lot of people forget that prior their 2008 revolution, Spain had literally won less than England. Just a European Championship in 1964 on home soil. So prior to 2008, despite England and Spain boasting the two best leagues in Europe, we were equally as bad as each other. Since 2012 we've been almost identical once again. England just need that little bit extra to get the monkey off our backs. I don't think we are million miles away personally.
  2. You see, I hear this quite a bit, especially from non-English people. But I have to ask, who exactly is "banging on about 1966"? I've been following football for 30+ years and I've literally never heard an English person "bang" on about it. In fact, I'd be so bold to say that the only time it ever really comes up in conversation is when we are using it as a stick to beat ourselves with. It's become more and more of a weight around our necks now.
  3. Holy shit the noshing off Messi has gotten from the BBC tonight has been absolutely astonishing.
  4. Kieffer Moore & Sorba Thomas...GET IT RIGHT ****IN' UP YE!!!
  5. Totally agree about the easier ride. He seems to have an endless supply of free passes he can use. Not sure what that's all about. To be fair he has also learnt to use and weaponise any online/social media abuse to deflect any negative (tOxiC) press he gets. Maybe the media don't want to be seen as being on the same side as the mouth-breathers on twitter.
  6. Over the past 12 months it's become crystal clear he has learnt absolutely nothing from what Mancini did to him last summer.
  7. Spectacularly shit. You can always rely on Southgate's England to make you question why you actually like Football. Thankfully our thumping of Iran means that if we avoid a 4-0 defeat to Wales we'll make it through the group. But **** me it's the same old story again and again. We have so much talent and potential in this squad it's obscene but as others have said, the first organised country we play with historical pedigree we'll lose comfortably. It's fundamentally why England fans have never been on-board with Southgate. Not sure why the media has never cottoned on to this. He hasn't delivered that marquee performance and result against a tournament favourite, despite having all the resources to do so. Southgate cost us a place in the 2018 Final and cost us the Euros last summer. We have done well recently despite him, not because of him.
  8. UEFA will have to resign en-masse. Doubtful but I suspect tensions are becoming untenable between the two factions. England and the FA talked about withdrawing after we were stitched up for the 2018 vote but we made it clear we wouldn't do anything in isolation.
  9. Late 30's? Bale is 33, Allen is 32 and Ramsey is 31. Hardly pushing 40. Although it is staggering how washed that trio look. All is not lost for Wales yet though. England are usually atrocious in Home Nations games so I wouldn't be surprised if we play with the same pre-season friendly tempo as we did against Scotland last summer. Especially if we get the job done tonight.
  10. He took far too much speed in to Turn 2 and expected Hamilton to get out the way. Hamilton was ahead and had the racing line. Sky shitting themselves that they are gonna get boycotted again.
  11. The budget cap is effectively dead. Breach the budget cap. Win a world title (or two). Accept a fine and a bit of wind-tunnel restriction (don't worry you've already developed a rocket ship). Keep your world titles. Perfect
  12. Yea he got off lightly all things considered. Had his eyes on Hamilton the entire way up the hill with the aim of pushing him out wide to get himself ahead. The problem was that there was a Ferrari in the way.
  13. Relative to its competitors on track, this might be one the most dominant F1 car of all time. Verstappen could literally start every race at the back of the grid and still be one of the favourites to win. Unless the FIA cripple Red Bull as punishment for exceeding the budget cap the novelty is going wear off very quickly (even for the Anybody But Merc/Hamilton crowd). Might as well rip up the regulations and start again TBH. Or maybe just ban Adrian Newey I doubt this is what Liberty/Ross Brawn/F1 envisaged when they drew up the new regs.
  14. Saw someone online describe England as a fast car stuck in traffic. Summed up perfectly. This crop of players oozes talent and potential. Once again being pissed up the wall. This time by a man who no doubt refuses to watch 18 rated films because of the foul language and violence. I'm telling you, Rodgers and Southgate went to the same FA coaching course. The World Cup is practically a write-off at this point. All of the teams in our group will fancy their chances. But like Top & Leicester, the FA will sit on its hands and do **** all until it's too late.
  15. What's the situation tonight?
  16. A beautiful service today. A wonderful send off. Competent, dignified and professional. Summed up her reign perfectly. Even got lucky with the weather. Rest in peace.
  17. Not saying we should have got rid of Vardy, far from it. But a fresh new contract when we're supposedly skint? So skint that we needed to bin off our most experienced player, Denmarks number 1 and the backbone of our defence? Nothing about his departure made sense. Especially when we had offers to get rid of some of our other deadwood but didn't take it.
  18. Our squad is far too strong to get relegated. But at the moment we are dropping down so fast we're breaking the sound barrier. This means that our squad would be raided like a tub of Heroes at Christmas with a lot of players in demand for pennies. We'd probably be left with a husk of a squad and a challenge to stay up in the Championship. I genuinely don't think Top or King Power would be interested in rebuilding all over again either. So yea I'm a bit worried.
  19. Yet we gave a 35 year old (same age as Kasper), declining and injury-prone Vardy a contract extension to 2024 in the same summer. Makes no sense.
  20. I actually can't believe he's still here. Are we being scuttled deliberately? WTF is going on?
  21. One of the most bizarre decisions this football club has EVER made. Where was the gain? What was the benefit? I just pray the decision won't be terminal. However I'm fearing the worst right now.
  22. Let't be honest, a lot of the scousers have no idea why they are booing now. Was it because of Thatcher's Chancellor? South Yorkshire Police? The Conservatives? New Labour? the Royal family? Abide with Me? **** knows. They've completely fallen off a cliff the past few years. Are they the only city that has working class people in it? Are they the only city that has had large areas struggle over the past few decades? Pure cringe self-obsession. Weird. Maybe the government should stop all funding to the city if they no longer feel part of it? We'd save a shit tonne to be fair.
  23. Bet you've been counting down the days for that moment so you could come on here and write another pop at Hamilton. Rent-free again. Odd. No doubt you'll be back again when Russell is confirmed as finishing above Hamilton this year. He won't be retiring this season though, since Mercedes have stopped experimenting so much he's been the quicker driver in race trim. As long as it stays that way he'll be sticking around.
  24. Tractors. When I come to power I'm banning them from the roads between 7-9am and 4-6pm.
