Are you not contradicting yourself here?

I'd like to think i've built a good reputation for being pessimistic (or realistic as I like to call it ) Like you say though, reading Watford opinions, it just strikes me as a game that their players will just want to get over and done with. Watch them pull out a Coventry style performance now full of grit and steel

If we're on it then there's every chance we will dick these. Watford strike me as another one of those teams with little have little backbone who will roll over if we can bag early.

It annoys me when anyone attributes any of these to any league to be honest. You get upsets in every single league. There are easy games in every single league. Having a squad worth at least 5 times the rest of the league trumps having experience. It is weird that we get rewarded for failing though. It's basically like saying "Here you go lads, we're making it as easy as possible from you to bounce back from relegation." The fact we've been able to retain this squad is absolutely ludicrous

Battle of the grease!

Wow that disparity is insanely unfair 4k...what's the point. Divide that between all 24 and throw in a little extra to top it up and each team could get 750k for being part of the league.

We probably need around 68/69 points so that'd be 33 points (11 wins) or 10 wins and 3 draws from the following 15 fixtures. Hitchin H Leamington A Berkhamsted A Long Eaton H St Ives A Stourbridge H Stratford H Halesowen A Bromsgrove H Mickleover A Sudbury A Alvechurch H Kettering A Telford H Plus Mickleover H 8 home games and 7 away. By no means easy, but if we actually win the games we should win without stupid cock ups and then we can go to any team in this league and pick up a result. It's by no means looks a certainty or even likely given our current levels. However, I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility. It really depends on what kind of reaction the new gaffer gets. The key will be getting back to basics though and stopping goals going in. Our forwards have more than enough talent to create and score the goals we need.

He already looks like he should be a starter to be honest. Reminds me of when little Wes came onto the scene and just looked so comfortable and dominant despite his early years.

Tops open letter: Jon had one objective. A) Blindly back your choice of manager regardless of how bleak the future looks with every poor decision that's made. To be fair, he nailed it.

How about Warren Slaney with Enzo's head?

Would you support a "Super League"?
filbertway replied to ozleicester's topic in General Football and Sport
Adding extra stuff to financially benefit select clubs sounds terrible to me. If they want their mega super league then it should be it's own thing and they give up domestic football. -
We've been massively unfortunate with the days that crap weather has come. Generally we're the team that everyone is playing catch up with due to our ability to get games on. With how teams are taking points off each other this season, I'm convinced that a good run could still see us nab a play off spot. We're still yet to put together a good winning streak and we've got some very winnable games coming up. The new gaffer just needs to find some consistency. First thing we need to do is remember how to keep clean sheets, find those and the results will start coming. We conceded something like 11 in 17 games at the back end of last season. We need something similar.

I've not got any sympathy for clubs that can't get a deal over the line on the last day, there's no reason to leave it so long at all.

I imagine he couldn't believe his eyes when we offered to spunk 80k a week on him. I imagine he'd be more than happy on 35-40 (which I still think is way too much)

Brian Deane and Paul Dickov would have loved playing against a team that pushes up like that on goal kicks.
-
It sounds like we have the same concerns then, just our bias towards Danish players may differ slightly?
-
The same Harvey Barnes that absolutely smashed this league to bits when he was 19/20?

My explanation is watching how he consistently crumbles under pressure which we saw in the Prem constantly. Teams aren't going to be treating us like footballing royalty next season and that means our defenders are going to have to be able to defend as well as pass. A 32 year old Yannick Vestergaard doesn't fill me with confidence. If Burnley stick with Kompany when he gets them comfortably relegated I can imagine they'd fancy signing Yannick after seeing what he can do at this level in a similar system.

I definitely advise you watch it again Flekken had a good game by the looks of it, very good save from De Bruyne.
-
Considering how much you consistently dislike fans discussing things, it's quite remarkable you spend so much time on a discussion forum

I assume Glynn and Jimmy are probably friends, similar ages and local businessmen, which is why he'd have been down to watch us. Had anything been pre-planned then I imagine it would already have been announced. He's not really done anything impressive and is in his 60s now, it'd be an absurd appointment. All I've heard so far is that there's been plenty of interest, which you'd expect. Agree with Cosbeh that I'd definitely be looking at a younger coach on their way up who has good contacts with local pro teams.

Ive thought exactly the same reading some of the stuff today. You'd think he had taken us up 4 levels rather than spending 5/6 years at the same level. The season is still salvageable at this stage, so im glad hes been able to pull the trigger. The fact that Stevo was surprised confirms to me that complacency had well settled in for him. I see Hutchings went to St Ives and got a clean sheet in a 2 0 away win at Redditch
