Not much we can take from that game other than we struggled against a low block and teams that can run. If we can play unfit teams that have players cramping up 5 mins into the 2nd half though we'll walk the league

To be fair that was against a Fiorentina XI mainly made up of ressies and kids who are a week or two behind in pre season.

There's no way Forest juggle the league and Europe with their squad. They'll do well to finish 15th this season.

Early days so not too much judgement from me. Was very disappointed with the reaction to our second though. First thought was immediately to time waste against a team that barely had a jab in them, never mind a knockout blow. First game out the way now and he'll be learning about this group every time they step out onto the pitch. As long as he adapts and improves us as we go along then I'll be happy.

Not sure how a scrappy win against this outfit gives anyone confidence. I know some people are very black and white but if you manage to trip over the line abd sneak a win against this lot then it should be concerning rather than encouraging.

We have a capable replacement and its 18m. Seems pointless to hold him back another year. Only surprise was that it took this long. Maybe his niggly injuries put off a few potential suitors.

It felt very pedestrian and the commentators remarked several times how they were too slow and letting Wrexham get back in numbers and set. It was only really when it got to sh*t or bust time that they picked up the tempo. I won't write the guy off after 1 game, it's a long season and you'd expect Southampton to improve, it was mainly that it just reminded me of the many grim matches we had under Enzo where there felt like there was no purpose until desperation kicked in late on. Just like under Enzo, we often found a way with our quality at the death when he or the players decided to abandon the possession at all costs philosophy. I swear we scored 6 winners in the last 5 minutes in the first 6 or 7 games haha.

That makes sense, I'd agree with the sentiments I'd say Monga, Nelson and Alves are ready to play a part. Especially Nelson who I think is likely our best CB, definitely the one with the highest ceiling. Not seen any of Page or Aluko so can't comment. Evans still looks very raw to me. I'd like to keep those 3 involved, but as squad players and getting minutes in cup games or games where we're holding a comfortable lead. Which you'd hope there'd be a few of for us at this level.

He'll suit Potter's football well. Good keeper and shouldn't be playing at this level. Feel like we could have got a bit more but not disappointed. 18-20m would be within the range i'd hope, just at the lower end.

Who's "the kids" you're referring to? Cus I'd consider 2 of them to be the one's from our academy that people want us to play. If you're insinuating that "the kids" aren't very good then you'd expect to sell them for peanuts anyway.

Based on that im glad we didnt go for Still. Proper pedestrian football and if it wasn't for Bazunu and poor finishing they should have been 3 or 4 behind. Didn't create a good chance till the 95th minute haha All in all, ill take that
