  1. He's come out yesterday and said the club were transparent on the PSR situation and it's up to them to comment on it. He also stated we're able to make signings in January and work on these started in December. So we'll see by Feb 1st if the actions match the words. Like you say though, walking away from Premier League money (especially this club) is going to be much harder than walking away from Eredivisie money.
  2. This alone doesn't bother me, I didn't think it was a pen. The thing that really annoyed me was that Man City got a penalty for exactly the same thing in the same game
  3. Maybe let's wait till we play a run of games that aren't Brighton, Newcastle, Villa, Man City and Liverpool. Especially with Danny ward being in goal for 1.5 of those. As well as our starting winger and CM being out injured. He's addressed the crazy amount of chances we were conceding. Next is to keep that balance whilst being more of threat ourselves. My only real concern with him atm is the continued starting of Ayew, I don't understand it. Hoping to see Facundo feature more against Fulham and Palace where we should be looking to dominate the games and force the issue.
  4. Yep, the goal posts keep getting moved for Brighton as well. Them and Brentford really have no business being in the Premier League for any long period of time, the fact that they're both consistently competitive teams at the top level is a testament to what good ownership can do for a club. Brentford being in an around the top 6 on the championship would usually be impressive, but to be operating fairly comfortably in the Premier league is insanely impressive. The difference between these 2 and other clubs is that I think they will be able to successfully consistently evolve their squads without getting hung up on holding onto certain players.
  5. Wild. This is why it's very hard to respect the FA
  6. How's the 1 year old daughter taken the news?
  7. And yet the league is the most open it's been in years. Weird.
  8. I'm not at liberty to say, purely on a need to know basis
  9. Musk would be the next logical step considering we're the real life Harchester United.
  10. Would have this lad either starting or getting 30+ mins tomorrow. I'd start with this then Monga on for one of these 3. Daka Alves BEK Buonnanote (i've probably pat butchered that )
  11. What's the hold up?
  12. Good comments from Ruud. Clearly he's been told we can bring in players in Jan as they're working on it. Club have been open with him about the PSR picture. He's going to take the game tomorrow seriously. Check. Check. Check. Now needs to follow through with the actual actions.
  13. Disagree, personally I think it shows good morals. Assuming the reasoning is legitimate. He'd be walking away from good money. Rodgers was happy to milk us and put in the minimum effort (i.e. turning up to matches and training and doing interviews)
  14. I actually think it's Japanish
  15. Common sense tells you that it's hard to sustainably compete at the very top if your turnover is a third of the top clubs. PSR prevents people with massive ego's spending money that the club doesn't have, leaving it riddled in debt and going onto their next little venture. All clubs should be striving to live within their means. PSR ruls really aren't the issue, it's the general mindset where people are saying "We should be allowed to lose more than £100m every 3 seasons" Think how insane that is for a second.
  16. Cups never worth it, every year someone makes excuses for us not to bother.
  17. Let's count how many are actually his errors and not a result of cooper having him play RB and RW. People have convinced themselves into seeing something that isn't there. Amount of times he's got 2 people on his side because Ayew and Fatawu have offered no protection, or he's running back after helping support the attack. There's probably 3 or 4 genuine mistakes in there. The rest are either system, multiple players not doing their jobs or just good play.
  18. Ooooooft, some KO by Opetaia. Got to be Gilberto Ramirez next for all the belts. Will be a hell of a scrap, sounds like they're aiming for April/May for that one
  19. Howe will throw it away 2nd leg, he's too cautious. He'll have them camped on the edge of their box and let Arsenal attack them for 90 mins. Assuming Arsenal are actually bothered about reaching the final.
  20. They key is sticking to the model that got you there. It's the only way it works. Can't get sentimental or obsessed with holding on to players. Each player should have 2 or 3 potential replacements that can be targeted. Nobody can be too important to sell. There's so much talent out there, but there only seems to be a couple of clubs that are arsed in putting in the effort to find them. Premier League clubs are in such a good position that they're a perfect platform. Most young players would snap their hands off to come and play, but if the club gets a reputation of holding onto players too long then the whole thing will unravel, it doesn't happen quickly either. You can have players with 18 months on their contract who will then be happy to see out their contract and leave for free. The very fact that Brighton and Brentford are Premier league regulars is really astounding and I don't think people appreciate just how good they're doing to even be competitive at this level. Every club in this league is so fortunate to be in their position, but there's only a couple that are truly grasping it and using it to their full advantage.
  21. Chodury having absolutely no awareness of what's happening unless it's in front of him, leaving all the time in the world to cross it in. Coady about 5 yards behind the rest of the defence playing Haaland onside. It was a masterclass in terrible defending.
  22. Oh they don't care, but there's clearly enough there to make profit. I go in my local betfred there's always a minimum of 10 people in there. Either way, I'm glad they're open. Means I can have a Saturday paper bet without an online account and the lure of the casinos.
  23. Each burger comes with free binoculars so you can enjoy the action on the pitch as well
  24. Who cares about the glasses, what about the elbow he dished out? I feel like the focus has been on the wrong thing here haha
