After this you would think it’s finishing in championship circles so depending what happens to McKenna, could be a shortlist of Rob Edwards, Corberan or Robins. If we don’t go for a manager who can grind us out a 17th place finish we are going to need someone who’s going to stick around and remould a young squad around Nelson, Braybrooke, Briggs etc if we do come down next season.

True, a few big games for northern clubs in the division. No love lost between Hanover and Braunschweig either. Lived not far from Hanover for a while, great city for a weekend on the beer with a game at the Niedersachsenstadion thrown in.

Agree with this, with loan players gone, out of contracts too, there’s enough scope for a coach to recruit to a different style of play. We are going to have to maximise our resources to have a chance of staying up and need a coach who can work in that way.

His plan A is the only way mindset will be massively exposed given the lack of funds we will have to improve the squad. Take Chelsea’s stupid money and run. A few more million for his staff and get someone in who can practice the dark arts to keep us up next year.

Going to be a very big ask for us to have recouped enough of the 3 year deficit in the past 12 months with so much in wages still on our books and having spent reasonably well on players coming in. Imagine in their forecasting the higher-ups would have assumed they’d have shifted at least another £200k off a week than we actually did (Daka, Ward, Iheanacho) - may not be as big a breach as 21-23 but likely we’ll have breached, even with KDH out the door by June 30th
