It’s fanciful to suggest that players would do that. The contract lengths were fine, it was performance on the pitch that was the issue. Missing Champions League twice the way we did absolutely scuppered a lot of paths to PSR success.

Speaking as an Aussie based fan, Australia are looking at the development of the Japanese players and league system in awe and jealousy. I think the positivity towards Soumare is overblown. We conceded so many shots I don’t actually think the midfield two were set up well, Wilf just recovered brilliantly.
