  1. We as a fanbase need to move on. No disrespect to the GOAT, there is close to nothing to gain and a lot to lose.
  2. He does paint a different picture, but also important to note that he benefits from doom mongering as this is what gets clicks and that's what companies pay for. So, I do agree, it seems we're in a particularly perilous situation, but the truth will come to light very shortly I'm sure.
  3. Nail on the head. This is my main concern. We have a horrible situation where the ownership clearly have financial troubles and are unlikely/unable to take a significant hit on their investment. Furthermore, I totally agree, there is no sane buyer who is going to want to buy a club with the burdens we have as a League 1 club - there is simply no appeal. You could either buy a Southampton (Premier League potential, similar size to Leicester) or a Bolton, a Reading (a big league one club with potential to grow), and pay a fraction of the price you'd pay for Leicester. It's really concerning!
  4. They’d have to give a shit for this to be the case, unlikely to happen.
  5. Don’t think any manager would’ve made a difference, honestly. Pep would struggle to get a tune out of this lot.
  6. Not being funny but the commentary/punditry being biased is not something controversial. These guys are literally on payroll, they’re not going to be critical of the the team or the owners because that would be wholly inappropriate. It’d be the same as shitting on your co-workers. It’s absolutely not the place for them to do that. They’re asked not to be negative and it’s their job to do that. Just do the only thing we as fans can do and unsubscribe from it.
  7. I have an idea for something more powerful than any words or any sentimental protests we can offer up. I propose the thread be a testament to one thing only: financial action. No words, no fluff. No debates. We can email this thread to all of the LCFC corporate emails to show that the fans are not being taken for mugs any more. Just screenshots or pictures of people cancelling whatever financial commitments you have to this football club. There is only one way we will make this regime end, and that is to hit them where it hurts. Enough is enough.
  8. With all due respect to Marti and obviously understanding what an awful job it is, I can’t imagine anyone would see what he did here and think “I’ll have a bit of that.”
  9. This probably doesn’t need its own thread… I didn’t see it had been posted about in general news.
  10. ‘Very serious incident’ at Leicester De Montfort University being reported in The Telegraph. Roads closed off. BBC coverage: https://www.bbc.com/news/live/c17zkj7nwzjt
  11. this was the song the AI rap was done over btw!
  12. It’s a damning interview. I think it was very brave and I have a lot of respect that he conducted this interview in English. But I cannot help but think it has backfired massively as I think there is a lot of quotes here which are poor translations and would’ve made more sense in his mother tongue.
  13. I don’t think this is all true. 1) I think majority of fans would’ve been excited by the prospect of Cifuentes after an incredibly dour season of football with no real identity. Cifuentes came in and told us he idolised Cruyff and playing the Barcelona style of football. Have we seen this? In fact, have we seen any kind of coherent footballing identity for more than a 30 minute spell? 2) I don’t know if we’ll get better, that is true. What is also true right now is that I actually legitimately think we couldn’t do much worse given the football is crap, the results are crap. 3) the goal this season was not to stay in the division. I am certain that’s not what the board had expectations for. I reckon the goal was playoffs, with the points deduction. What we’ve got now sees dangerously close to a relegation scrap.
  14. What happened to the Cruyff style of football we were sold in the summer?
  15. Please please please let whoever makes these decisions see through this result and do the rightful thing and end this reign. We didn’t deserve a point let alone 3. We are an atrocious football team. I don’t know who, but I don’t think we could be worse under anyone.
  16. Said the right things when he joined. Results came early, but not performances. We thought the performances would come, they never have. We’ve not improved, defensively we look atrocious, up front we create nothing. Unacceptable. I don’t think we can limp on like this, genuinely think we are at risk of relegation if we go on. I don’t know who we replace him with, but at this point surely we can’t do worse.
  17. I think without LCFC bias, Brighton is probably a more exciting challenge (financially solvent, stable premier league club with European ambitions), rather than a debt ridden Leicester, with an owner who has bigger concerns than the club… I don’t think it’s a good sell. I’d love it, but doesn’t seem achievable.
  18. Would be unpopular but wonder if Levy could be tempted for a project…
  19. A) why would he leave B) if Brighton were to let him go, you can almost guarantee it would be on terms which ultimately would be so favourable they would not end up on losing out. That’s the difference between competent ownership and what we currently have.
  20. Sorry I don’t know what the dots to join are here? I get there a more lucrative offers to be done with CrapCryptoGamble.th (which may or may not have questionable ties with our ownership), but if we are at the point where they realise they can’t do these dodgy deals, is it not better to just do business with companies that want to sponsor above board rather than just having no money at all?
  21. Can anyone with even a smidgeon of understanding of football finance explain to me why we haven’t got a sponsor at this point? is it not like football manager where at the start of the season, you get a bunch of options and then you pick the deal you want? Surely there is someone who wants to sponsor us, even if it’s not £1 billion pounds from a Crypto-gambling-slave-labour corp? Surely some money is better than nothing given our situation seems so perilous…
  22. I’ve been busy and only just catching up on the last pod (after Cov). How quickly perspective can change, everyone upbeat about Marti and the team just two games ago.
  23. This. I genuinely think he would not get along with quite a few members of our squad (think, FA cup, flag, etc).
  24. I think he’ll stay now. I wonder if that blackout thing was his final kick out and he’s been told it isn’t going to happen now, so may as well strap in and enjoy the ride until at least January. I would be very surprised if any clubs see value at him at £30m + we will be asking for. Maybe a very desperate team but I think Palace have decided they won’t pay that.
  25. Important episode, covering some very important topics. Well done to those involved, honestly was a bit taken aback by the rawness of it all but I think that really drove the message home. On the (much less important) football side of things, I completely agreed with this misnomer of “draining the swamp”. Utter guff. Having a clean out is very much different from removing players who are very much detrimental to the success of the club, we have been unsuccessful in shifting any of those in the latter category. So I don’t know if we can really call this summers outgoings a huge success, whilst the bomb squad still very much exists. I was also thinking re: the lack of comms, whether or not it was in the clubs interest not to disclose that we were working in very fine PSR margins. Perhaps when the window shuts, they’ll come clean. But, this remains to be seen as was alluded to.
