Got the ability for sure, although he just looks like he lacks confidence in his own ability. Doesnt look self assured at all and i think that gives the impression he could drop a bollock at any moment. Confidence breeds confidence and all that. Hopefully that’ll come with game time and BR’s management of him.

Yes @Harry S explain yourself! I only had to state I was slightly underwhelmed with the signing of lord Perez and I had the full wrath of Ric ? Tbf he alleviated my concerns with a well thought out post and convinced me Perez was gods gift to the premier league. Which was confirmed after his first game for us. I’m excited to see how he progresses this season. Even with Perez being as good, stats wise at least, as the other players mentioned above, I still think we require another top drawer winger if we have aspirations of pushing the top 6.

I think you are probably right. If we want to push the top 6 we need to make sure, unlike in previous seasons, we are beating the bottom half of the table. In a BR team playing a defensive midfielder against opposition such as this does not suit the ethos of what we are trying to achieve. That is to say as good as Ndidi is he is still quite limited in his passing and creative abilities, when what we require against weaker opposition is perhaps more of a pass master, liberating Tielemans to move forward and create.

Can we not pay Bournemouth a few million quid to take Gray off our hands. Dear lord he’s fvcking awful.

So by the sounds of it we’re signing another bang average player for this level. I thought we were wanting to push top 6? I hope I’m wrong of course and Brendan brings out the best in him but I do feel a little (((underwhelmed))). I can try and spin it positively in that he’s better than Gray (not hard) eases the pressure on Barnes and able to play anywhere across the front. If he’s able to pitch in 10+ goals then that’ll do as well. Lets hope its £16m upfront and £14m potential add ons.

Did we really spend £29M on him though? This figure gets banded around in pounds and euros by the press and most on here, but the reality is usually a little less sensationally large. Perhaps this figure included all the add-ons if they were hit, but with the few the appearances made and his goal tally being quite low I can't imagine any add-ons were triggered. I'd be interested to know what he's cost us in reality.

Its ok I purposely gave Gray a 1. I think he’s had more than enough chances now and time and time again he just doesn’t deliver. He’s a weird kind of player, his body shape and movement with the ball projects a deceptive image and covers up his massive inability at this level. I’ve always said he’s the embodiment of the phrase flatters to deceive. I think it’s now time he was moved aside as he is not good enough for where we are and where we want to be going. I honestly think he’s stealing a living. Maddison, Barnes and Tielemans are the future of our attacking force.
