I didn’t realise he was in his last year. But yeah I’d make a sensible new 2-3 year contract offer. He’s adequate back up in the Prem, and first team 2nd choice in two positions in the Champ

Whilst I can understand the clamour to sell and refresh the squad, I’m not sure I see the benefit in getting rid of JJ. His attitude and loyalty are never in question, he’s still got 5+ years ahead of him, he can play either side, whilst he’s not the greatest player I just can’t see us replacing him with a £5m better option. The fee needs to be £8-9m to make this trade worthwhile

I think that if you still think this in 6 weeks time then it’s a valid point. But criticising the new manager that had less than 1/2 the preseason, has lost players, and has players eyeing the exit is very premature.
