I thought he was great at finding a pass when he first started for us… then went through a spell where he was doing the Kasper over hit to the wing thing… I think it was more form / confidence and he’s actually good with the ball

Like most years I swing between this rather pessimistic view and the “we’re too strong for this league”…. But we are certainly weaker than two seasons ago …. In fact every year since 2018 we’ve been weaker every year

I’d agree wholeheartedly with this in an office / restaurant / building site / any normal working environment. Not, however, in elite sports. If the performance Director says that sitting for 4 hours a day in a car is hampering your fitness / recovery / performance, then you should not only listen you should be embracing his advice (and it’s pretty obviously correct). The trouble with this line of reasoning is that we don’t have a Performance Director, we had an under-staffed manager, who had lost respect, and was trying to instil standards into a workforce that had been allowed to largely do what they want, with a Board that would back them and not their manager. Our problems are symptoms, and always point in the same direction

I’m no fan of Soumare… however if the new manager has the same effect that Enzo had on Vesty, RVN on Thomas etc etc then happy days. If he doesn’t think he can or if it doesn’t transpire then sell. The main problem is, as always, our inept board have given that new manager 3 weeks instead of 3 months to make those decisions. So frustrating that we handicap ourselves through laziness

The other way to interpret that is; Frustrated at the underperformance of the team. Something I’d definitely have sympathy with!

Hmmmm …. I hope he thrives, but whenever I hear a player can play so many positions I fear for his career as a utility man that’s handy to have on the bench. Hopefully for his sake he nails down a position and it becomes his.

I’ve not seen enough of Aluko to comment, where did he play for the youth teams?? I’d also revert Hamza back to his old, all action tackle everything CDM instead of RB too. But sticking to Faes, he’s not a bad footballer and is strong on the front foot so get him attacking everything in the hole before it reaches the defensive line. His problem at CB is his concentration and discipline to not attack the 30/70 balls (which instead would be a strength at CDM)

Yet another example of us holding on to a player for 2-3 years too long. We saw the best of him, and then saw him decline in form, fitness, and resale value. We’ve got to get better at player trading and selling just after peak

I’m starting to think him returning is inevitable. The trademark lazy, backwards looking, clueless, stick with what you know, the fans will love it, kind of decision that has plagued us under Top’s “leadership”
