LCFC 3-1 Ipswich, post-match thread

He lacks any belief in himself, so runs around a lot behind defenders so he can’t receive the ball, and if finally he can’t avoid being passed to runs into the back of the defender, knowing that it looks like effort. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a player more in need of a move away and fresh start -

Throughout this season we’ve collectively wanted to see more desire, a better team ethic, a more aggressive press, more attacking intent, and some evidence of a style of play. In the last three games, with 30 minutes exception in the second half at BCFC (for which I personally give the opposition some credit) we’ve seen exactly that. For once I’m enjoying watching us, and feel like we have a team that deserve support. Well done MC, long may it continue- 200 replies

Really enjoyed that… We’ve started to really dig in and play for the shirt. Things may be just starting to turn a corner -
Wow. Real facts / stats can be really brutal!!

Which puts him at 3rd name on the team sheet!

I think our eyes have told us everything we need to know already
-
Yet another symptom of the lack of accountability and poor leadership
-
I’m not suggesting it’s the total sum of problems at the club, but we have a striker that avoids the ball… It’s unfair to criticise MC for a logical tactical sub that didn’t work because Daka
-
I’d like to see that too … playing with Daka is handing the opposition the points
-
I thought we did carry on from where we left off in the first half. I was happy enough that we were doing OK and had a 2-0 lead at half time. The problems came in the second half, and as a result of the opposition closing us down infinitely quicker and giving no space. Putting Daka on to exploit the space behind the defence that BC had pushed further up the pitch to reduce the playing area is a perfectly logical thing to do. Use his pace and a long ball to counter. Unfortunately Daka looked like he’d won a competition and the plan could never work when reliant upon such a poor footballer
-
I agree, we were abysmal and whatever plan he had didn’t work. But did you see Daka?? It was worse than playing with 10 men. The manager is responsible for a lot of what happens in the pitch, and I’m ambivalent towards keeping / sacking him… he’s not responsible for just how awful our strikers are and the problems in the squad will be there for the next guy too
-
I don’t disagree entirely, and with hindsight it didn’t work. But if his thinking was to play in a more counter attacking way then the sub makes some sense…. Until Daka proves that he really is as useless as his worst critic suspects. Imagine Vardy coming on to do that role, the substitution wouldn’t have looked so bizarre
-
This is where I have sympathy for Marty …. Daka should have been an outlet for a pressurised defence, a long ball that he’d latch onto. He’s so useless it’s astonishing, rarely did he get near to those clearances, and if he did it simply bounces off him to the opposition. I hate to say it, but Ayew is a way better outlet, and at least looks like he’s played football before
-
Yeah, he certainly plays like Gerrard at the same age. He’s superb, and a great attitude
-
Great game today, what an improvement
-
Marty may have saved his job today by dropping the lazy fat little toad

Realistic Managerial Replacements

MON is a very intelligent bloke, he’s also got vast experience in football, has a no-nonsense work ethic and is a serial winner. He’d be a huge upgrade on our current Board members and a better DOF than the one Aiyawatt will inevitably put 5 minutes into finding -

You’ve ruined it!! There’s no point in watching now I know the outcome!

Would you want us to be relegated to L1?
5waller5 replied to Collymore's topic in Leicester City Forum
When we were last in League One I had the first realisation at how little the club gives a toss about its fans. As a small business owner I’d had 4 tickets in the comfy seats three rows behind and about 15 seats to the left of The Chairman, with pre-match meal in the Grand Hall (or whatever it was called - the big room that holds around 600). I’d threaten to take our best customers to a game if they didn’t give us an order!!! On relegation they froze the ticket prices, and I renewed…. Instead of 30 - 40 tables of ten it went down to 5-6 tables of ten, they even partitioned the room off to feel less empty. Having supported the club through that season when they could only sell 20% of those expensive tickets, the following season they took my parking space away, moved my seats to substantially worse ones, and doubled the price. Called the guy that shook our hands every week to discuss and there was nothing he could do … So protest. Don’t attend. Booo. They don’t give a toss anyway, but you may feel better, and it will definitely be more uncomfortable for them than just accepting it like I did! -
Hmmm, I usually find that if someone doesn’t agree with me then they’re wrong!
-
Yeah I don’t mind seeing it occasionally... I want my CB to get frustrated with his team mates creating nothing and for him to dribble with the ball to try and spark something. Under Enzo it was a regular way we broke the lines and is always unexpected. But it relies on a CM with a bit of sense to cover in case the ball gets turned over.
