Mentioned him a few weeks back, but after just watching Pompey vs Watford, there’s something seriously likeable about John Mousinho. Promotion in his first full season in charge, keeps them up in his second season with one of the lowest budgets in the Championship, while also being ravaged by injuries. He seems to have instilled a great team spirit at Pompey, their off the ball work is excellent, hard working, tenacious. He has also shown he can be flexible when it comes to style of play and tactics. Leicester City badly need those kind of fundamentals. Mousinho has to be under consideration imo.

This relegation feels far different to the last one imo. Last time it felt like whoever we got, we’d be in the mix to win the Championship regardless. This time around, we’ve gone down with a whimper, more rot feels like it’s set in, while our managerial appointments and signings this season have just been so bad. The next managerial appointment feels far more important than when we appointed Maresca, we need a guy to completely revitalise this football club. The likes of Martin and Dyche would deject a good chunk of the fanbase from the get go, we can’t afford to make a move like that. We need a Nigel Pearson 2.0, but it’s quite difficult to pinpoint who the right guy would be.

The only good thing RVN has done recently is speak about shaping for the future, bringing in the likes of Monga and Evans, while giving the likes of Thomas and McAteer game time, who lets be honest, will probably still be with us next season. We just need a better manager who will build on the “shaping for the future” aspect. Dyche isn’t that guy, Rohl has also relied more on experience, we just can’t fall into that trap again. We need to follow a Sunderland type model, and get someone in who operates similarly to their manager Regis Le Bris.
