We can't just draw our way out of this. Arsenal we will lose without any shadow of a doubt. From Palace, Everton and Bournemouth I want a minimum of 5. You just know we'll draw with Everton.

Palace vs Leicester - Pre match thread (14th September 3pm)
Dan replied to FoxinNotts's topic in Leicester City Forum
We won't play a way that will beat these sides. We'll rarely get hammered by these sides but I think we will very consistently lose 1-0, 2-0 and 2-1 to them. His natural instinct isn't to attack. -
I'd agree with you on that but I do think you can make signings where the worst case scenario isn't being tied down to some potential deadwood for years and we've done this on numerous occasions - plenty happening this summer. I just think we allow ourselves a bit too much risk. Our business this summer to me risks quite a lot of downside and unless the likes of El Khannouss and Okoli are top drawer (there's a chance with El Khannouss) there isn't tonnes of upside. If we do end up going down it's a really damaging window for me.

I can tolerate losing him to a top club but the fact we'll likely get done on some bullshit tribunal is really shit.

Tete's honestly not the best example, he gets highlighted because he came with a lot of excitement and didn't deliver, but at least there wasn't some long term commitment to him. Tete costs us nothing beyond May 2023. Someone like Ayew or Reid if they don't perform will be costing us for years. This isn't to say Tete was a good signing, if all signings got a pass on simply not costing much we'd never get anywhere, but we've made far worse deals. Souttar for example is a disaster in comparison.

If we had been deducted points it would've been something he was responsible for overseeing. The fact we've gotten off means it's simply something we can't hold as much against him (and it's not just him by the way) rather than something we can praise him for. We didn't get away with it because of good process and good organisation, unless that's what people think has actually taken place. The red flags are there even this summer. Left our business late, panicked, overpaid and have quite obviously caved into a managers demands again like we did Rodgers. We've made numerous poor economical moves again tying ageing players to lucrative and long contracts. He should be the one saying no to this sort of thing, unless he believes this is the way forward - which I would disagree with him on. If he isn't saying no, then he either believes in this way, or he's having things dictated to again by those supposedly below him. Exactly what got us into the mess in the first place. Nobody on here will convince me he's any good. But like I said earlier - he isn't the sole issue. He's a big issue but I find the tolerance of his performance even more concerning and that comes from above him. Rudkin wasn't 'good' when Rodgers clearly needed sacking either and Rodgers was getting barrels on here. Rodgers was simply the most replaceable at the time.

You're foolish to avoid the red flags in these performances IMO.

We're staying in games but we just don't ever feel like we're going to win any. You can see more of the same coming up too with another narrow loss at Palace before the first 'six pointer' against Everton, which we'll obviously go and draw. I think he's setting us up to make us hard to play through the middle of which is completely opposite of what happened in 2022/23 where it was just laughably easy, but it's coming at the expense of nearly any attacking threat. I think the fact we've scored in every game is a bit of an anomaly because we've definitely not racked up 3 goals worth of attacking play. I can't forgive starting with that midfield yesterday in anything other than games at maybe Man City and Arsenal. How many managers are going to move Ndidi that bit further forward? Cooper's successor will end up with him as a striker. It's stupid and it's definitely not "pragmatism". Pragmatism is keeping Ndidi as a destroyer where he belongs.

It's better than nothing but meh.
-
How do people defend him? I can only assume they know him or have some sort of vested interest. He's absolutely awful by not far off any metric. It speaks volumes that doing the bare minimum generally gets the "there you go moaners, what have you got now". The bar is so low.
-
We have left this too late though and we've ended up paying above expected for some of what we have brought in. It's a better window than it was a fortnight ago but I still think this could've gone miles better.
-
Too much credit being given. There was no plan, hence the late flurry this window - where leaving yourselves short is an inevitability.
-
So we're going to exit the window without a single player under 38 who you can safely rely on to score you 5 goals at this level. Another botched window. But who expected differently?
-
Really good move.
-
Happy with this one - right type of profile of player.
-
Which minute in the first half is he going off tonight then?

Is my stream ****ed or are they seriously still waiting? **** me.

As ****ing if the teams in the CL / Europa get a rigged draw to avoid each other now. Because they really need that bit more help don't they

Jordan Ayew - NEVER PLAYING FOR LEICESTER AGAIN!!!
Dan replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Agree that people are mad about goal expectations. We just need a 20 goal season striker. You and everyone else. Literally only three players hit 20 last season in the Premier League and that was in a very high scoring season. I don't expect many goals at all from Ayew, I am hoping he's a low key decent player though, doesn't need to be a goal machine to contribute. We do need goals elsewhere though. -

Weird as I've been told on here all summer that nobody would touch us with a bargepole. Quelle surprise, player in weaker league still fancies a move here. This is the right water to be fishing in. Fingers crossed he's a success, I do quite like the look.
