There seems to be quite extreme takes on both sides with Cannon while I am just somewhere in the middle. I don't think he's quite the saviour that he is made out to be and is a classic example of a player who has gotten better by not playing. But then I also find the complete lack of minutes he has really a bit bizarre as well. Like he isn't 'that' bad is he? If our happy medium is to sell him for less than we paid a year ago it's just yet another baffling move on the whole - bringing him in when he had a long term injury pointed to him being a long term pick. It would be typical for us to sell him (the one we should loan out) and loan out Soumare (the one we should sell).

Them being owned by Olympiakos' owner might work against them on this one.

This I worry is going to be the theme. Not dissimilar to Faes in that sense.
-
Agree, but it would be great if some of those did fall under that category too. They know that this is a club that can achieve things.
-
Yeah when we said attackers we didn't mean "attacking for a goalkeeper"
-
He's allowed the house to burn down, but come on, he's got you a new sofa, what more do you want?
-
What on earth is going on?
-
Yep - knock down expectations then celebrate if the reduced expectations are delivered, which is usually a big if in the first place. They need to do something pretty extraordinary just to achieve par for this window. Like we said last week - at least two attacking signings. That was the quote. That's the minimum.

Did anyone go to Wolves two years ago when we won 0-4? Their south bank were absolutely belting out songs against their equivalent, Scott Sellars, as they fell to the bottom of the table below us. The month afterwards: The final table:

Thought he looked really good for a couple of months when he came in but never seemed to recover from that Anfield nightmare. He seems to have picked up this bizarre confidence though and it's not even a good confidence. Shirks responsibility for his own errors. He'd be no big loss at all for me and he's one of those you could probably fleece a decent fee for. It is however worrying that he can come out with this - another black mark against the cretins 'running' this club. Damning that even he thinks it when he was absolutely awestruck when he signed for us.

It's why I just can't get properly annoyed anymore until we have new ownership. What's the point. Our luck has run out now. The Fulham away games in 2023 and the weekend sort of sum up the situation around us now. 2023 was a hateful team who should've never gotten relegated but managed to thanks to a situation those at the top never bothered to fix. The weekend was just an honest but poor team. This is what we are now. This is decline. This is life under Top & Rudkin.

Lots of anti Rudkin songs at Fulham. Maybe the penny is finally dropping in the fanbase.

We're just obviously bad aren't we. We've morphed into Forest in no time.

Right now we've gotten through the Rudkinomics, lets hope he's as big a **** to the opposition as made out. -
Maresca was well onto Rudkin, I think he was really trying to force change above him. Teflon Jon for a reason though. Chelsea come and save the day.
-
I honestly think KDH felt forced into it. I could be being very naïve but I really don't think he fancied that move. He got rattled here a couple of times over silly things. I don't think it'll take much for it to get on top of him at Chelsea. There's a sentiment that he's the teachers pet who replaced Gallagher. They're going to be demanding more than I think he can give. I feel him ending up on loan here in January is actually quite inevitable. Can see it being a bit of a torrid move for him.

Fulham v Leicester - Pre-match thread (August 24th)
Dan replied to 420Hashish's topic in Leicester City Forum
Think they're a decent side to catch early given they've just lost their 'glue' in Palhinha. Do think Silva's teams often play above the sum of their parts though. I quite like him. He achieves this while playing pretty entertaining stuff. Cooper's got to have improved his away form substantially since Forest. 13 points away in 28 games is absolutely woeful. I think narrow loss. 2-1 or something. Would take a point but these are one of the more beatable teams you would imagine. Never feel like we do very well against Fulham. -
Honestly think Maresca's got absolutely no chance at Chelsea. I usually think that a good manager can shine through even in tricky circumstances, inept board etc... but Chelsea are such a mess, owners with absolutely zero feel for the sport that have manifested such a mess of a situation that I really don't see how you're going to make it click. Maresca's going to be viewed as the owners puppet, KDH is going to be Maresca's golden boy. Their fans will turn more and more on their ownership this season and by extension those two are going to get a lot of the brunt of it. They both have to hit the ground running and I'm not convinced they will. I can totally see KDH being back here on loan in January.

This annoys me more than the player himself. This should clear up the Rudkin debates anyway.
-
Of course. The club apologists will defend each notching down of the expectations each time as well and pretend we don't notice. So lets hold them to it. Two more attackers in next week. I bet it's something like Doak on loan and that's that.
-
Glad we got there in the end!
-
This is the other side of it for me. Could you imagine us getting this sort of fee for a player we don't want? How obvious does Rudkin's ineptness have to be for it to be pretty much unanimously agreed?
