I know the practical answer is promotion but FA Cup. Another major trophy secured and another European tour. Having a bit more of Europe is all we've truly lacked.

I suppose if you're talking bouncing back then look no further than 2013/14 Leicester. I remember the Watford play-off game didn't just feel like an opportunity stolen in the cruellest way but very much our final serious opportunity given potential financial issues. The dream scenario if we do blow it this year is to follow it up with similar. I really hadn't much contemplated the idea we wouldn't go up this season bar a bit of a wobble around the Sensi debacle. I still think we will but I'm the least confident I've been.

Yeah they're just what I consider to be the safest wins. I've been let down by I think quite literally the three shortest priced teams I've backed though. I didn't miss a lot tonight. Neither Genoa or Sheff Utd paid.

Quite the opposite. I think we can get back to Europe and competing for trophies. The club itself however live in a fantasy world on how they can get there. Plain to see.

My confidence has taken a hit but we're still in the ascendancy. Lets make it count for once.

I do have to add though - you can tell we're quite scarred. There are twists and turns yet. History does not favour us, but it's unfair to completely write us out of this, even if I can understand why it's in a lot of our instincts.

What's most worrying about that is that in the first 15 games we didn't concede a single goal after the 75th minute, so that 13 points dropped and subsequently the only team in the top seven to have a negative difference has all come in the last 20 games. It is hard to not conclude that we have been sussed out somewhat. That whole mantra of wearing teams down has proven to not really been the case.

Maybe we'd start to really rediscover what actually made us tick as a club. We've become delusional and idealistic. Probably not likely under this ownership though.

I've been doing a bit of digging on this and the findings are genuinely quite remarkable. We haven't come back from 2 goals down to get anything out of a league game since Stoke in December 2016. Over seven years since we have been two down in a league game and not lost!!! In that time we did come back from 2-0 down at Wolves in January 2019 but went on to lose the game 4-3. In other competitions, the last was Spartak Moscow where we were 2-0 down and won 3-4. Then you have Sevilla where we were 2-0 down in the first leg but ended up winning 3-2 on aggregate. We are genuinely terrible at comebacks. I daren't count how many times we've blown two goal leads in the same period. That's a genuinely quite interesting finding to me - there is surely no other club in the 92 at least on a run that long.

We may just live another day here. Wouldn't be shocked if they matched the 9.

I'm sure they've got to grips with it. They've overseen the most avoidable relegation with the biggest wage bill in Premier League history but despite this I've absolutely no doubt they know what they're doing and it's all fine.

I've fancied it for the majority of the season. Don't think I'd take 100/1 if offered now. I don't think we'll get to 100 let alone 107.

Yeah I know what you mean, I just think the fear is that you'll end up going on a shit run and losing it all. Like for all I champion the method, it isn't impossible to lose say 15 times in a row, at £20 a pop that's £300 down, which is why until I was banned I was just going to incrementally boost what I stake until I'd hit a certain level. So of the nine teams I put in here over the weekend, four of them actually did lead, Jong Ajax (8/1), Freiburg (5/1), Valencia (17/4) and Man Utd (9/1) and of those, Rangers ruined my first three for a grand total of £572 providing Inter beat Genoa later, which is very annoying. But the Man Utd one ended up landing me £380. Farense remarkably went 2-0 down but then brought it back to 2-2, only to concede a minute later. That would've been a massive one. Sporting definitely worth looking at, that's 5 goals conceded in 2 games to Rio Ave and Farense as a side who frequently go off at about 1/5. In total since doing this I'm £435.35 up and that's despite having some genuinely crap luck on some of the safest looking teams. I suppose the flip side is you're relying on luck to land your outsider. To be honest, it's all luck, it's just that the odds are shifted heavily in your favour which is why the bookies won't stand for it. My entire record is 40 bets and 4 wins. So I win at a rate of 10% yet the average odds I've backed at have been at around 36/1 - which implies I should win around 2.73% of the time. My four wins came at 17/1, 31/1, 11/1 and 37/1. If they hadn't have taken away the Greek league I would've landed AEK - PAS Giannina at 45/1! It may not be for everyone but this is just way too good a loophole to not get on for me. It feels like the easiest money I've ever made. Tried putting on a couple in Sheff Utd & Genoa for later but the freeze icon has indeed gone so I may be looking for favours off family members here good luck to anybody doing it. It's quite fun.

This whole breaching FFP in January. So Sensi didn't happen - if it was on the table at any point, that means therefore surely the finances were in place to at least get 'something' in on loan. That's not to even mention that we'd then be saving on whatever we were paying Casadei as well. Maresca deserves scorn for the last couple of games, particularly yesterday, but the hand isn't as strong as it could be and this is precisely the point. Ipswich spending less than us isn't relevant to the fact we didn't do anything when we could've done.

My plan all along was to do fivers until I got to £500, tenners until £1,000 and then twenties. But just went a bit mad with it this weekend given I'm probably banned. That Anderlecht game was torture. They were rubbish. Made really hard work of it. If Farense take the lead at any point here I will another £400.
