Liverpool H 0-1 Post Match Thread. We are relegated.

I would be but these types do appear the majority. No wonder really that the most scandalous decline in years has been allowed to happen mostly unchallenged.

Hahahahahahaha

Extremely harsh on September 11th

Van Nistelrooy cannot start next season here. That's the one scenario where you really are risking following Luton's lead. The rot has set in, as it did there under Edwards.
-
If Coady was anything as good for the squad and environment (or basically anything you can't actually quantify) then these performances in recent months simply wouldn't have been allowed to take place. If these are the standards he's upholding then cheerio.

Two teams we were odds on to win away at less than four years ago.
-
Yep, sliding doors moment. This is what I mean when I think you get what you deserve most of the time. Their issues in goal were nowhere near as big as ours and they did something about it while we stood still. Our board get everything they deserve.
-
Yeah you've got it the wrong way around. I'm saying they did very good business in January - so often it was treated on here like it was some impossible job. Villa and Forest to be fair to them have gone out and got it. Our MO has been do nothing and hope it fixes itself. Forest signing Keylor Navas, January 2023 while we let Ward throw in 3 goals every weekend was a massive warning shot.

Sell while you can. He'd absolutely have had takers in 2021.
-
I don't know how Forest passing us hasn't pissed more off. Reminds me of the way United fans just shrug their shoulders as Man City and Liverpool hoover up all the trophies.
-
As you say - his last six months which is a pretty small percentage of his top flight career. His teams routinely don't score goals. Absolutely I'd rate him above Cooper or Van Nistelrooy and I think working at Brighton he'd have a good sense of when a club is nicely ticking over, which is the main reason he didn't touch us with a bargepole. But Christ he's dour. West Ham could've been relegated this season if the promoted sides were any better.
-
Aston Villa also another good example of how not doing anything in January generally is an excuse, one that was often made here.
-
Have no axe to grind with Villa but it's always annoying watching this happen under a manager who was attainable for us six months before they got him. This could be us with any football IQ.
-
We have literally nothing to enjoy this season. Literally nothing. We are reduced to this.
-
Our board's obsession with Graham Potter is another red flag. He's seriously average.

Saw that video title and thought it was going to be about Leicester.

It's never quite as far as it looks. Admittedly it is under this lot

Inter won me over weirdly in the 2023 final which they lost. Were called by many to get hammered but they if anything got shithoused themselves, they had the better chances in that game. They're a good team. Surprises me how overlooked Inzaghi gets for jobs. Can only assume it would be expensive to get him out of there.
-
We are one of the worst though. We're terrible at both ends. We make stupid deals and we're unable to rectify them. Forest for their recklessness got a combined £70mil for Mangala, Niakhate and Vlachodimos. If they were here they'd still all be under contract. One of them loaned to Udinese.
-
Aiyawatt doesn't have a clue. Not prepared to piss more years away pretending he does. We've seen enough.
-
Forest still get over the line I think unfortunately. The fixtures suit them. If we had a squad with a jot of fight in it that would be a banana skin, but nobody at this club values that so we'll just roll over and hand them 3 points on a plate.
-
The fact they're going to get a CL place for the second year in three proves they are just a good team in their own right. I also don't think anybody else looks 'that' great. Liverpool have definitely downturned in the last couple of months and I don't feel they'll hit the same heights - largely assisted by a ridiculous run from Salah. Arsenal are good but never quite manage to get over the line. Man City are the biggest worry but there's every chance they have peaked under Guardiola, they aren't what they were. Chelsea 2.0 are no threat for the title. Man Utd & Spurs are nowhere close. Then you're looking at someone like Villa. It's a long shot but I'll be interested to see the odds on it. They've a lot going in their favour. An already good team that haven't really gone mad in recent windows. They get this summer right, I think they have a real chance.
-
They're properly balanced semis. Genuinely quite hard to call both.

Genuinely think Newcastle might win the league next season.
