I completely agree with everything you say, but I think the speed of the fall in 2022/23 has absolutely screwed the club. I'd go as far as saying it's the single most damaging Premier League campaign a team has ever had. Even with what those two had in place, you simply have a better chance of rolling a six if you're a solid Premier League club. You can get people fall into your hands like we did with Maresca - when you're appealing. We now have the combination of being a genuinely risky, not attractive job (and I say this as somebody who has spent years saying it was attractive) and already being rubbish, and in a crap position. I used to wonder if their whole "our search for the new manager will now begin" thing on statements was just political talk, but now I really do think they actually mean it. They have absolutely nothing about them whatsoever. They're weak. They're flaccid. They have everything dictated to them, take zero initiative, zero responsibility. The club is like a primary school child thrown into the workforce.

Like five of the last six managers have failed to do. Maresca's the only one who enhanced his reputation under Aiyawatt and Rudkin, and that's because he got out relatively early.

If they'd done this I think 80% of this forum would've never heard of Cifuentes.

People suggesting the likes of Parker and Dyche if they get the sack are seriously underestimating what those willy pullers have actually done to us. They wouldn't touch this with a bargepole.

We have very few goals in our side. Players who basically never score. So for that reason I didn't mind him playing. But the longer it goes on the more apparent it is that he's offering you very little beyond that. He isn't creative, he isn't strong, the game just passes him by.

I completely agree with this point made that you don't 'need' to play a number 10, but we have now recruited in such a way that we essentially have to play one. At this point, if we're going to have to, probably just give Mukasa and Daka a run. It can't yield worse than what Reid/Ayew have.

Won't happen. They're completely reactive. Win a game and they will hand it to King for the season. Lose a game disgracefully and they'll start looking. What our two games under King have been have been two losses where he will not really get the blame, so the default is to just plod on.

To be honest unless he scores he offers you virtually nothing and the goal record, while 'OK' isn't anything to write about.

I'm talking in relative terms. We've fallen that far in the most abject, humiliating way that everything else just feels like a relative icing on the cake at this point. That being said we've not had a proper hammering yet. Too many teams just clock off and preserve energy against us. Brentford and Newcastle last season could've easily hit 7 last season but chose not to.

Just the latest episode of our demise. Damage limitation against a team we were two leagues above a year ago. No doubt in my mind we'll be relegated. Sheffield Wednesday are the only worse team in the division.
