Argument to say if you’ve got better players at evading a press it makes it a non issue. Ricardo certainly didn’t get caught being played into as much as Raikhy - the usual double pivot of Ricardo and Winks would certainly make Stolarcyzk’s distribution look even better.

Best ever game for us, to be honest he’s been very good ever since Cardiff away. Becoming a real leader in the group too, could see the young lads looked up to him tonight.

Said it before, Not as good as Hermansen with his feet but I think that says more about Mads than it does Jakub. I think Stolarcyzk is more commanding than Mads - extremely calming and solid. Like many have said, if we’d trusted him over Ward would we be in a totally different position right now.

Perhaps should be taking McAteer’s spot in the priority order for a bit on that showing.

He’s the best player overall in this league by a distance. Ridiculously solid at right back. Steps in to deep lying midfield and oozes class. Then on occasion is asked to play in attacking midfield areas and is absolutely everywhere and runs the show. The loyalty he’s shown us in staying here this year and leading this team to the position they’re in shouldn’t be underestimated.

I’d rather fully rotate than lose even one of Winks, KDH, Ricardo, Faes etc to a pointless injury in a game we’ve got a good chance of losing regardless. I think they’ll go pretty strong, but we can’t take the risk. I know we all like to romanticise the FA Cup and a good run, but frankly getting over the line and securing promotion is far more important not only to our sanity but also the future of the club.

I think essentially throwing this and making as many changes as possible is the right thing to do after recent results. I don’t think he’ll be able to make as many as the 11 quoted though. Considering 2 of Hamza, Ricardo and Winks have to play in the double pivot. Obviously Cover is an option but I don’t see it against premier league opposition. For all of Praet’s faults (Injuries, Consistency etc) he’s more suited to the “8 Role” than anyone we have. Extremely intelligent footballer that understands the spaces you need to take up at the right times.

Agree with this. Lots keep saying we won’t be able to play this way in the Premier League with how well teams will press us but the higher and more aggressive a team presses the more space we will have to play into. Works both ways.
