It seems like Cifuentes has fallen into the trap RVN fell into. Big up the youth team and youth prospects, but the form on the pitch is so bad that it now means he can't rely on them or give them a run out because of their inexperience. He probably deems it too risky. In actual fact, it probably works the other way? Less pressure on them, expose them to challenging circumstances in what is already a difficult league to compete in, and then see how they respond. There's probably less to lose? We'd all love him to start Aluko and Nelson but I think the realist in all of us knows that it won't happen. He'll stick with Faes, he'll bring in Soumare, he'll persist with Daka and Ayew. He'll give them another chance to prove themselves to him. Same old rinse and repeat patterns emerging with Cifuentes both on and off the pitch.
