And that it’s not antisemitism but a brutal 75 year occupation…

Not just that, there is a huge amount of data to suggest that poverty + poor dental health = poor overall health (including links to Alzheimers and heart disease). Poor oral hygiene can lead to many other diseases. Dental health isn't just about keeping your teeth...

And Opticians too.

It’s ridiculous how much our standard of living has dropped in the last decade. I have several relatives who live in Europe and they are shocked when they visit.

You can’t reset if the wear indicators are in contact with the disc, they will just come back on. They do come on very early with some models and that would probably explain why they weren’t picked up at mot time

It was sort of tongue in cheek but reform is definitely needed.

That was my point, reducing meat/dairy would be another tool in the process. I don’t believe there is a fix all so we need to make use of everything available. As for solar in the UK, there is definitely a place but again not a solution for everyone and everywhere. I’m lucky to be south east facing with a large roof space so I’ve installed panels. I’ve also added an ASHP to replace the ancient oil boiler which was costing a fortune to run (I’m fairly remote so no mains gas for miles around) so the panels have been great for reducing running costs. I’m currently awaiting planning so I can cover a barn roof with more panels and a shed load of storage.

That being said, most agri land is used for animal feed and not human consumption anyway...

Absolutely, and this is what we are currently witnessing are we not? I hear constant ’whataboutery’ whenever the subject comes up. The nations you refer to would have to go up against the world’s most powerful people in Israel and its allies. Literally no one can get into (or out of) Gaza or the West Bank. I have two family members who have both worked in Gaza (they are aid workers but currently in Yemen). It’s a complete mess whichever way you look but I believe (and hope) that politics and dialogue are the only way forward.

But sadly this predates Hamas… Palestinian families have had land stolen and thousands murdered for decades. Tens of thousands of Israeli settlers are living on stolen land (this is acknowledged under international law) after forcibly removing (or killing) whole families, some of whom have been in refugee camps for generations. How could this happen without any backlash, such as Hamas’ recent actions, as reprehensible as they are? It’s inevitable and I’m amazed it’s not happened more frequently. I oppose these acts of terror but I also understand why they occur and they will continue to do so while the inhumane treatment of Palestinians is allowed to go unchecked. At least the wider international community can see what the current IsraelI government are doing and hopefully take action against them.

Your previous dialogue suggests otherwise…

You’re missing 50 years of oppression

Are you mad? Israel have just slaughtered 30,000 Palestinians, mostly civilian, women and children included, in just 3 months… They are successfully creating yet another generation of enemies. Hamas were created by the Israeli occupation in the first place. Look at what every human rights organisation worldwide are saying about decades of oppression (at best) and potential war crimes. Change will only come if Israel withdraw their settlements and military from Palestinian land and allow them freedom.

There have been peace talks accepted by the Palestinians which were not accepted by the Israeli government a few times. Yitzhak Rabin was assasinated by an Israeli settler for agreeing to peace talks...
